If they want a day out to have a shout in the smoke, let them... pretty pointless at the end of the day as it achieves naff all.

Marches and demos all a bit French in my book, I'd be more interested if there was a guillotine involved somewhere.

The French are always striking about something but they seem to have a functioning country most of the time. In fact many say their health system is better than ours.

Aye, we all seem angry these days.

I have stopped going on socials apart from here, X is a cesspit now and Facebook is filled with weird adverts nothing to do with me.

The kids are all on tiktok and Instagram, it's another hellhole I will avoid! 😁

I genuinely don't know the answer to this. Did the marchers on Saturday have a list of demands? Or was it just more of a collective cry of anger?

I'm "fortunate" not to ever had a twitter account, or what's app and so on. I have a Facebook presence but that is only to be part of groups for advice on keeping MG cars and so on.

This is the only group that I actually post on (you lucky bastards)... I suppose I'm quite insular in my own way

That's my point... they all get wound up by looking at their plastic screens and start to believe there'll be a revolution but they can't agree what they want... not yet "blouquons tout" but getting there

Yeah I just wondered whether Tommy and co had them coalesced around some actual policy recommendations. 

So far it looks like 

1) Stop the boats

2) Get country back

Not a lot of detail on how. Just lots of anger (some of it probably justified). But little by way of ideas about how to achieve any of it.

Legitimate concerns of course

 The most worrying is the people invited to speak on the event. The stage was filled with anti vaxers, tax dodgers, climate deniers & people deluded enough to believe the white man is being replaced. The obsession with MAGA is astounding. 
 

March against over immigration by all means. But don’t be surprised when folk criticise the clowns you’re there supporting.  
 

We all want the immigration system much better managed. But ‘taking our country back’ & handing it over to people who will create further tax inequality , erode workplace rights, further dismantle the NHS & abandon climate change policies wouldn’t make anything better.

We had one with 2 English lasses for a while but it didn't last.., it was called Bubbles after the youngest's chest I think... my car was sparkling then.
