Won't happen, but ACD and Forss to start.

The former swapped to the left, at least initially.

Not sure Forss is fully matchfit but that is what i would like to see in the next few weeks

I'm really not seeing what Cissoko offers at all. Barring that 20mins be but at Barnsley he's been dire. And with Gale scoring I'd give him a start.

Taylor for Johnston would be great also. I'm not one saying Johnston has been terrible but Taylor just seems an upgrade.

And I hope it's anyone but Randall (apart from McAtee). Don't care whether that's Forss in the 10, Morley as a midfield 3 or Dalby to go 2 up top. All of them are better options.

£2.4 million of players in those 2 I can't see contributing.

It's not your money :)

We know it won't happen though!

I can see a case for Forss in the supporting striker role (🤔) as above, though I reckon the inverted wingers will still be used.

I’m with you on Gale, he’d be my preference today.

But I just think SS sees something in Cissoko (that Barnsley cameo the only fans example, I can give) probably in the past and in training that can give us a spark. And I think Tuesdays omission is an indicator he’ll start.

I think SS sees Taylor and Forss as first 11 starters, whether that’s today after Tuesday efforts and still playing catch-up I’m not sure.

As for Dalby, I still think like the two above he’s not far off catching up. But personally I’d like to see him have more of an impact off the bench before he starts.

But in conclusion I’d love to be proved wrong and see all of those start if it means we win.

I think there’s justification to see a lot of this squad start and controversially I include Randall and Mcatee in that too, even though it wouldn’t be my preference.

These have been tough opposition for every side they have played this season. We just need to get any kind of win and build a little league momentum.

Surely the only justification for McAtee is how he played on Tuesday, which let’s be honest is a Mickey Mouse game against shite opposition. Other than that, I’d say there’s very little justification for him even being on the bench given our other options.

Aye, agree, not seeing what Cisokko brings to our game, Gale done much more when he's been given the chance

Yes Eddie I’d go with that too. No way I’d be playing Randall against a physical side like these and after Tuesday I’d definitely prefer him on the bench.

Just to reiterate I don’t think he’ll start and he wouldn’t be my choice.

Neither would Randall, I’d be going with 3 midfielders if Forss isn’t ready yet.

But we know SS, likes an attacking midfielder in his preferred formation so far this season.

So if it’s a choice between these two (tallest dwarf in a lot of fans eyes I know) then it’s a close call at the moment between Randall and Mcatee.

Between those two I think Mcatee is a better goalscoring threat and he’s more industrious. So if he was to start I’d see those being SS’s reasons for his selection.

We just need our wingers not to cut inside to shoot everytime, it's great for XG and shooting numbers but rubbish for goal scoring, as you're just throwing away what would become real goal scoring opportunities for what amounts to fake ones.

The amount of times I've seen our midfielders and no10's running into space in the middle or the edge of the box or our Fullback's overlapping, while being completly ignored so our wingers can shoot a 1/1000 goal with 3 players marking them is ridiculous.

This needs to stop or we'll never win constantly as we just won't score enough constantly.

It's not a case of this clicking or the team converting more this is tactics and i'm worried hearing SS talking as if this is just bad luck.

I like that team though maybe now is the time to take Johnson out for Taylor and though i think Gale will is better than Cissoko i would have Forss there if fit

Has nobody mentioned ss comment on his interview ?

Regarding the rovrum game,   we were controlling the game and would have won easily if thierry didn't decide to go all kung fu !

Would like to see forino-taylor combo today.

Some of the comments about our team in all these threads make me chuckle, I swear some people think that we should be the second coming of the 08/09 Barcelona team. We're league one, our team is what it is, we're going to have players that have bad touches, misplaced passes and more than an off game, We're league one with league one level players, some might argue a level below that, we just need to get behind the team, support who we have and hope they come good on that game.

It's true that some folk lose sight of where we are really at, but that's understandable given the fanfare that accompanies new arrivals, manager included, and the hope we have as fans that the team turns out to be as good as it seems to be cracked up to be. It is our fate to be armchair managers, suggesting tactics and line ups and hoping that we see the best of the players every week and having players coming in and out of favour - because it's our club and we crave success.

But, there is very little we can actually control, which is why it's so difficult to sit back and let them get on with their job.

Get to the ground and enjoy the ride

I agree, it needs to be finessed, for me it's the equivalent of Evatt's nice tidy triangles getting to the byline, then scared to cross it so pull it back and starting again, v frustrating either way.

In terms of tactics SS did say he wants the wingers to use the overlap option more, and to make better choices, so don't think it's lost on him like it was on Evatt that variation is the key.

Don't think people expect that at all. The comments on here about using one player over another are opinions on putting out a team capable of beating another league one team.

Seems reasonable.

When was the last time we played on an international weekend?

Seems like a long time ago

Suppose it could've been in the L2 COVID season

It certainly doesn't happen often

Mate is well annoyed as he got tickets for England assuming we wouldn't be playing

We played during the 2022 world cup at the same time as England on a Friday evening.
