I haven't missed one minute of a home game this season, and it never occurred to me for a second that I might stay to applaud them yet again. How many claps do they need? How many claps do fans need? Its wierd. Quote

It should be against the rules to not put the board up. Don’t disagree, but what seems like a huge overreaction by the club over the last few days re potential pitch invasions must have had some serious foundation if they’re using safety grounds for something that is potentially so pivotal. Would like to think it’ll be a one off but we’ll find out soon enough when we’re all hanging round ready to run on the pitch to celebrate at Bradford 🎉 ( 🙏 ) Quote

I'd genuinely question whether anyone who thought it was ever a remote possibility - let alone when we lost - should actually be involved in running the club. How clueless and out of touch can you be. There has never been a pitch invasion in my lifetime, unless we have won promotion, avoided relegation on the final day, or got to Wembley. They just don't get it if they think it might happen after a routine last league game. Quote

A possible can of worms if this practice gets replicated at grounds up & down the country. Trust us to start a new dogshit trend. Think it happened at Rochdale last week Quote

That just makes them doubly out of touch. No chance of away fans invading the pitch, especially if they haven't won anything. It gets wierder the more anyone tries to justify the misreading of the situation. Quote

desperado Posted Sunday at 05:02 Posted Sunday at 05:02 Not quite as strong as Gonzo but still pretty pissed off with that yesterday. Our ability to shoot ourselves in the foot could very much end up defining our season - be it a defensive/goalkeeping fuck up, or multiple wasted opportunities at the other end. As much as the outcome was relatively low stakes we still witnessed what has been plaguing us all season. Not finishing 3rd or 4th puts us under far more pressure in my mind - that second leg, with Bradford behind both goals, will be an extremely hard task. And travelling over there on a Thursday night for an 8pm kick off is a real shitter. But, with my positive head on, if we have a couple of games now where we play to our full potential - cut out individual mistakes, take our chances and overwhelm our opponents then promotion is still very achievable. Still favourites with the bookies. We’ve come back very well from defeats this season - it needs to happen again and I think it will. Quote
tomski Posted Sunday at 06:47 Posted Sunday at 06:47 In the grand scheme of things it was disappointing to lose a game we should have won 2 or 3 times over with chances in my opinion. That said it really makes no difference and It only matters these next 2/3 games. Ref was worst I’ve seen in a long time. Both their pens a farce. Liam Walsh should of been sent off twice, yet it was still our fault we lost. Disappointed to be at home first but it’s not a big enough concern that it should make or break our season. Personally gutted as I can’t go but will try like many for the away. Quote
Popular Post Whitesince63 Posted Sunday at 07:08 Popular Post Posted Sunday at 07:08 The major objective for me yesterday was to try and prevent Luton and Plymouth making the play offs because I believe they’re head and shoulders better than any of the other three. In the end we fluffed it and those other three did the job for us so no damage done. It’s disappointing that we didn’t secure a second leg home tie to complete the job in front of our own fans but I’m still just as confident we’ll beat Bradford over two legs anyway. Bring it on now, what’s passed is passed, we’re the best team still in it despite our defensive issues so just let’s go now and prove it. Quote

I think this now completes the set of someone having said this after every game we didn't win this season (maybe not Cardiff away). Can't see it yesterday though. They scored three, missed a penalty and hit the post/bar three times. How many more chances than that did we create to win 2 or 3 times over? Quote
bwfc4ife Posted Sunday at 07:50 Posted Sunday at 07:50 I’m in agreement that the result yesterday couldn’t have been anymore Bolton wanderersesque. It was a disaster. The problem for me is that result yesterday really has tipped the balance in their favour. Both games this season have been tight, we were the better team last weekend for sure but still only managed the one goal and come away with a point. We need a solid win next Saturday for me, something like a 3-0 to stand any real chance because we all know our away form is shite and we will concede in a needs must game for them. Same as the Barnsley play off, form out the window and they very nearly pulled off the turnaround. If we have to go there and win, I just don’t believe we have it in us. On the flip side, if we can overcome Bradford over two two legs second leg at theirs. We win the final for me. Quote

Watched a different game to you. I’ve no issue with that. It’s opinion based after all. Second half we had multiple chances to put the game to bed. Glad cissokho, Burstow and Kenny all had good chances. Quote

We’ve lost 2 of our last 11 away games, one of which was Cardiff (and the other on a farmers’ field). Our away form is not shite. We don’t win many away but I don’t see where this need for a 3-0 advantage comes from, we’re pretty good at not losing away from home. Quote
Rizlar Posted Sunday at 08:14 Posted Sunday at 08:14 Watching the game yesterday Kenny needs to get hold of Gale and point out that instead of going for goal time and time again to look up and pass it to somebody who is in a better position twice yesterday he went for goal and Kenny was unmarked . Forino needs to point out to Conway to fecking make a fecking go at getting back in defence once we lose the ball he regularly saunters back as though he’s fecking Roberto Carlos and all our opposition know this is our weak spot. He won’t play in the play off games - Johnston will be back at left back. GJ is far from the perfect left back but he’s the more solid option of the two. Given how much he’s played this season, I can’t see SS leaving him out of the biggest games of the season. Quote

I think you're right, our issue in a lot of these games we should have won hasnt been missing sitters, pens hitting the woodwork repeatedly etc, more that we create a lot of situations but dont make the most of them, with a poor decision, badly executed cross, final ball, weak effort straight at someone. Our other problem is making games more difficult than they ought to be by conceding the same types of poor goal when not under any real pressure Quote

SS needs to Johnston as his weaknesses but at least he puts a tackle in , our left side is a major problem Quote

It’s not only that, but he very, very rarely hits the target. He regularly cuts in off the wing, makes a yard of space with a sight on goal, then fires high and wide. He’d be great at Aussie Rules. Neither of Gale's or Cissoko's assets outweigh their deficiencies and risks. Quote
Ani Posted Sunday at 08:30 Posted Sunday at 08:30 2 minutes ago, Rizlar said: SS needs to Johnston as his weaknesses but at least he puts a tackle in , our left side is a major problem The left side is a problem rather than GJ or Conway as individuals Look at Huddersfield game, Conway not playing and everything came down that side. Gale does not get back and cover (unlike ACD on other side). Hence Cissoko has come in who is a bit better but so weak in the tackle. It does mean we have threat going forward on that side as we saw at Bradford last week and the second goal yesterday, but teams at this level will know that weakness and as the season has gone on more and more have targeted it. Depending on the result of the first leg I would be tempted to swap Cissoko for Conway and play GJ as left back. Sacrifice some attacking threat for hopefully more solidity Quote
