Recent Filums I've Watched

Book of Eli - Denzel Washington - took two attempts to watch it all the way through - a bit of a duff Mad Max type film. Watchable. 4/10

Green Zone - Matt Damon - enjoyed it, always like films based out in Middle East, etc. 7/10

Planet 51 - was enjoying it til I nodded off, kids liked it - must be good. 6/10

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - see above - 6/10

Good Will Hunting - Matt Damon/Robin Williams - look, there was fook all else on this Saturday just gone, never seen it before - quite enjoyed - the scene were Robin Williams was going on about his late wife farting in bed had me in tears - half decent. Oh, and Minnie Driver looked far better than I can ever remember. 7/10

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - its Swedish so no famous actors/actresses - great thriller - didn't bother me that it was in subtitles great revenge scene on the pervy Probation Officer- looking forward to the 2nd in the trilogy in the next week or so - well worth the watch and highly recommended. 9/10

That's me, Jonathan Woss, over and out.

Shambles

Giving the quiet place a watch anyone any thoughts?

Just finished. Effectivly a silent film with monsters. Not sure what to make of it is defo one of those marmite films. Tense with a few jumpy bits. Wait for the dvd release.

Aye, just posting similar

A quiet place

Saw the trailer, thought nah

Got good reviews

I'd give it 7/10, s'alright

Picked a film at random tonight. Bomb City, decent watch and a true story of a hate crime in Amarillo Texas.

The Survivalist - another post apocalyptic, cannibals and what have you film set in N Ire

A fella living in a cabin with a very small farm is confronted by a mother and daughter who trade 'things' for food and shelter.

Grim, obvs but in cinematic terms brilliant.  Hardly a word spoken yet the tension and threat of violence (in many ways) is constant.  Shows our fragility which explains our brutality (ooh i've gone all Kemode)

Keep asking myself would we really resort to such brutality if the 'grid' went down?  Bug out bag getting prepped ;)

The Founder - The story of Mcdonalds.

I enjoyed it.

Last Jedi - expectations were low after the last one but thought this was the worst of all the 'new' ones.

All a bit 'meh'.  Young uns would no doubt like it.

Watched12 strong last night

Based on a true story over the Afghan war

6/10 a little bit long winded at times

Looking Glass. New Nicolas Cage film where he plays a motel owner who discovers a two way mirror looking into a room where he witnesses a murder and shit starts going down. 7/10

alien covenant were on ont sky..

dunno why the david robot didnt get infected .. little tiny bacteria thing turning into a massive monster in five minutes is plausible , but robot marooned on planet for years while pissing about with the black death on steroids for fun doesn't even get space lurgy from it.

Hmm

 . . . he was a robot!

The film has some holes but it explains clear as day how the virus/goo works.  It effects 'the meat'.

Anyone seen I, Tonya?

My mate watched it and said it's a decent film, don't think its my cup of tea though.

Yeah it's good. Actress playing the mum does a phenomenal job. I wasn't sure about the quirks like the third wall breaking, plus Nancy Kerrigan barely gets 5 minutes. Worth a go if nothing else is on

the robot will no doubt have silicones in its build.

it wouldve been better to play up the pseudo religious worship angle from the sacrifice in the previous one (the alternate take has a load of monks watching him eat the soup) than to handwave away Diatoms , Stem Cells and similar things.

the robot didnt even get a cough..

that jake gyllenhall film from about 6 months before kind of worked it better. and that got some stick for being a copy of alien.

The Witch. Netflix horror film. Distracting manner of speech with lots of 'come hither' coming from Finchy from the Office.

6/10

Whiplash. Absolutely brilliant. All about an aspiring drummer and his fucking bastard of a teacher. Really enjoyed it

Netflix 8/10

Welcome to Leith. Netflix again. Doc about a small town of 30 odd who have a battle on their hands when a white supremacist moves in with his racist bastard mates. Interesting enough.

6/10

Yeah, watched Whiplash on a plane a while ago (only place i seem to watch films) : really enjoyed it.

Just found out about this film: http://film.britishcouncil.org/the-bromley-boys

I’m currently reading the book about supporting Bromley Town (they’re my local club so pop down and watch them from time to time) really good read as well, hopefully the film will be ok even with Alan Davies in it.

Infinity War was bloody brilliant

Infinity War was bloody brilliant

Definitely not one to watch if you're not a fan of the rest though.

I still need to watch Spiderman, Thor Ragnorok & Black Panther before I get on to this

Definitely not one to watch if you're not a fan of the rest though.

What’s that mean Frank?

I’m not that up with the Marvel stuff but I’ve seen most of em
