Im assuming this isnt the game with all the trouble ?

remembered them scoring 2 ogs, didn't remember the second being so comical.

I think the pitch invasions were the year after.

Didn't know where else to put this and didn't warrant its own thread, but stumbled across this graph on Reddit this morning.

Klasnic right up there for efficiency amongst some big names, I always liked Klasnic but when you look back at his overall record I assumed it must have just been a bit of a cult hero thing. Nice to know the data backs my memory of him bagging way more often than his stats suggested.

My memory of Klasnic was he was always guaranteed at least one shot on target and a proper threat

Top quality striker, more than good enough for a mid table PL team

Klasnic minutes to goal ratio must’ve been insane at one point. I’m sure he wasn’t the most prolific elsewhere.

Vividly remember him scoring a few with his back to goal on the turn. Loved him. Nowhere near mobile enough to start that dreaded semi mind.

He was around a 1 in 2 striker for Werder Bremen before his Kidney failure.

I've just been reading up on his health issues now, remarkable what he was able to achieve considering how ill he actually was. Now had his 3rd Kidney Transplant and unfortunately doesn't look a well man any more. Cracking player anyway but even more admiration for his ability all things considered, don't know if still true but he was the only player to ever compete at a major international tournament after a kidney transplant when he played at Euro 2008. Scored in the quarters as well.

I follow him on instagram , always likes the BWFC posts . You wouldnt recognise him to look at tho .

Like you say 3 kidney transplants , 1 off his Dad, 1 off his sister I think then a random donor . Been very very lucky but after 2 rejections he knows he is on borrowed time . Even if this one stays with him the toll on the body will have wiped years off his life expectancy . But he says he is living every day to the fullest and loving it . What else can ya do .

Brilliant. Remember that game weirdly for the Chelsea red shirts and green socks. Had forgotten the first goal was an og

Great to see Burnden without fences and segregation

On the Burnden Paddock that day. The trouble was a year later and I was on the Manny Road side

Dont really remember this .....I was 2 !

I was 7. First time I'd been in the stands (instead of on them big cinder steps at the back of the embankment).

Possibly the best atmosphere I can remember at a game.
