Owen Coyle

Never expected anything else but a loss. Hate to say it but even backed us to loose 3-1.

Our record at Anfield(apart from cup competitions) is dire. Better teams will go to Anfield and get dicked.

They had a better squad than a lot of the prem' before buying Carrol, Suarez, Adams, Henderson etc.

They will finish in top four; we will finish mid-table. And a comfortable mid-table at that.

I don't think in reality any of us stupid enough to go through that yesterday expected us to win, most I spoke to thought we would get a draw. But it was the way we capitulated and the way the team was tactically playing catch up. Teams like Liverpool exploit our weaknesses which is most of the team atm, OC has had ample time to address this without spending millions but what does he do- signs players he knows but are not good enough.

He should be looking for players like Charlie Adams who are playing below themselves and just need a bit of tlc.

It's not just money, look at our board they are equally as wealthy as Stoke or Villa.

Could any of these people who are now moaning that the club is 'hawking' Cahill around and selling 'our best keeper', whilst at the same time slagging off the club for not signing 'a top striker', please explain how else we're supposed to raise the funds to sign this 'top striker'? Ask Eddie to loan us another ?15M?

His set up was wrong which was proved with the Muamba substitution, then to reveal that Muamba hadnt been to bed the night before it was his fault. He got it wrong wrong wrong.

Cas said it right on the other thread you can beat 3-0 and have been out played and it a case of fair enough, but that wasnt yesterday it was pathetic and Coyle needs to shoulder the blame first and foremost

He got it wrong and changed it. All good managers encounter this. Doesn't mean he doesn't have a clue

Not sure the whole blame rests on OC.

The same team performed really well against a team of mega stars last week. They were shit this week.

Yes Muamba probably shouldn't have played if he didn't get any kip but he was only on for one of the goals, you cant blame that for the rest of the shite

Davies and Eagles gave the ball away to easily.

Klasnic was unable to get into the game

NRC was annonymous

M Davies ran with the ball but once again lacked end product.

We need to regroup and at least play with some spirit against united.

I dont mind getting beat (we're bolton it will happen) but we've got to put some fucking effort in.

didnt say he doesnt have a clue, said he got it wrong

Granted, you didn't say he doesn't have a clue but the first post in the thread did which is what promted the debate. I agree with you he got some things wrong as all managers do and have to accept after defeats, but I stick to what I said in that there wasn't agreat deal he could have done or changed which would have had a bearing on the result.

Nail on the head here IMO.

It's not the losing that got my goat, that was expected, it was the lack of effort. Too long a periods of not being in the game, we're better than that, so lets sort it before Manure come to town

there was no lack of effort

the players aren't good enough (to regularly compete with the best)

no disgrace in that

but we've got to be better organised and do the basics

basics like marking our men at corners

Sadly it's a fact of life, we're always going to struggle against the Big clubs. Hard to take but just got to get on with it.

Stopping in getting pissed, see if it'll help. not much consolation but we're averaging a point a game and a

+ goal difference.

Against City I came off the Reebok reasonable pleased because we competed even though the difference in quality between our two and sixpence players and their multi-million pound players was obvious.

Yesterday the majority of our players just did not perform; of course they were favorites before a ball was kicked and they have expensive players which we are unlikely to ever get. SKD and Klasnic won nothing; Knight, Cahill and Robinson were IMO way below what is expected at any level of professional football and Muamba well its Muamba and you get that now and then with him.

I really dont believe the 442 issue makes any difference when so many players are below par. Could it be the uncertancy regarding Cahill's transfer that had him playing what I thought was his worst in a white shire?

I would be confortable with 6 points by the time our game against Chelsea is over but the squad need to get over that inapt performance and play like they did against Citea when the scum arrive at the Reebok

May as well be with the way some people are going on :pardon:

Theres a lot of clubs in this league in a lot worse position than us, I dont understand what all the panic is about.

is analysing a poor performance classed a panicking now?

Better than last seasons finish and i'm happy

The goal from the corner was a cracker, attacker moving in front of his marker across the front of goal, very difficult to defend.

For me the basic passing, possession and hold up play were just amateurish. There was no conviction or ability to do anything other than get rid. At least the promoted teams will go there and have a go, possibly losing by a bigger margin, we seemed to lack any bottle.

That said I don't know any other teams outside yhe top 5 that would have lived with them yesterday, I was gutted when I found out Carroll wasn't playing.

Well for what it's worth I think Owen Coyle is in the top 5 best managers in the Premier League.

I'm just as frustrated at Bolton Wanderers inability to compete with the elite (and even the slightly more rich in the Premiership) as I'd have been no matter who the manager was/is/could be!

At the moment Owen still has lots of players he didn't buy himself and has sensibly not tried to change things too quickly. Trying to compete by having wingers and more passing footballers I find more entertaining on it's day... particularly at the Reebok!

We were poor yesterday. I accept that! The manager may have been poor, the players were certainly poor... POOREST of all though is the performance put up on here by the fans!

he's playing robinson and knight, who apparently are shite, ahead of two of his signings

Alonso wasn't signed to start straight ahead of Robinson, nor was Wheater ahead of Cahill or Knight.

They cost what, 3.5 million in total?

Leciester spent more than TWICE that on their defence in the last two months and have conceded 8 goals already in the championship.

he also signed 4 of yesterdays front 6

this is now coyles team

and weve scored 7 in 3

were not the finished team yet

give it time man

i'll give it all the time in the world

i'm just not letting the little fella get away with suggesting coyle is having to use another fellas team

and if wheater wasn't signed to play, wtf was he signed for

and whether they play or not is irrelevant

folk can't say he has to play megsons players when he's signed replacements he doesn't think are better than megsons men

Cas there are always gonna be things that we fans would do differently (and disagree with) no matter how much we support and/or rate the manager. (For example I cannot for the life of me see why Owen wants to play Muamba and NRC in the same 11)

You obviously don't like Coyle or perhaps you are still bitter at the way you defended the previous manager from the sort of 'dreadful' criticsms you are now making about Coyle.

I know you are not going to like this but AT THE MOMENT you sound a little like you are happy to see Owen fail... where the sensible Cas of a couple of seasons ago would realise that he is indeed far from failing! With the money we have to spend the fact that we are not relegation fodder and manage to entertain so much at home is a complete success!

wotchutalkinabout

i loved what i saw last sunday and said as much on here

yesterday, we didn't perform to our potential

i think coyles tactics where piss poor

i think the jury is out on many of his signings

i think his loyalty to knight and davies is misguided

i think he's got a very difficult job

i think adequate is staying up

i think success is 14 and above

i think that we will have a successful season

i think this would be a very boring place if everybody agreed all the time
