frank_spencer Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Aye, and lining the ever bulging pockets of multi millionaires who roll around like dicks fills me with excitement, not. I also go to watch local bands in local pubs, again I feel I get better value for money than paying for the likes of that manc tw@t Gallagher [i'd rather listen to Frank]. So you prefer to watch a piss poor version of the real thing? I've seen bands in many a dive. But none of them has ever come close to beating watching the likes of kiss, metallica and the prodigy with thousands of others. I've been to the odd game at radcliffe borough and rammy united and its come nowhere near to the experience of watching the whites play.

DazBob Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 For the record fester doesn't even smoke! Not even if rubbed really hard?
SpiritofBurnden Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 For me it basically became a sanatised, boring experience... Bit like reading one of your posts then.
SpiritofBurnden Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Why do people feel the need to announce that they're not going again anyway? The whole thing smacks of self importance. If you don't want to go then just stop going. Problem solved. Save us the fucking press release.
Zico Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Why do people feel the need to announce that they're not going again anyway? The whole thing smacks of self importance. If you don't want to go then just stop going. Problem solved. Save us the fucking press release. correct and coming on the back of the last 2 results/performances whilst in a generally poor run, it makes you look like either a self pitying sort, or a munich

If you don't want to go then just stop going. Problem solved. Save us the fucking press release. Fair comment. I read the thread t'other day & decided not to get involved. I read again today & just thought I'd give an insight from my perspective. Especially as I post a lot on the non league thread.
Bobcat Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Bit like reading one of your posts then. remind us again what happened on the last forum you posted on ...eh? spastic

SpiritofBurnden Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 remind us again what happened on the last forum you posted on ...eh? spastic Still here numb nuts? You don't like football but you're a member of more than one BWFC forum. Are you planning to post your press release on all of them until you find someone who gives a shit?
gonzo Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 personally,i love watching bolton,i love going to the match every week. i get the same giddy feeling before a game as i used to as a kid. i have a great craic in the pub before and a beer under the stand. my old man is 66,and he certainly hasnt 'come to the end of the road',and im pretty certain when im 66 i wont have either. the day out at bolton is what you make it. i couldnt give a monkeys how much the players are overpaid blah blah,i love the game of football, and am proud to be watching my team playing at the highest level possible. we are going through a poor run,but fuck me,weve seen alot worse. all those that go watching non-league...fair play whatever floats your boat.... but ill stick to the thing ive been doing all my life....
Boby Brno Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Aye, and lining the ever bulging pockets of multi millionaires who roll around like dicks fills me with excitement, not. I also go to watch local bands in local pubs, again I feel I get better value for money than paying for the likes of that manc tw@t Gallagher [i'd rather listen to Frank]. If anything was to put me off going to matches again, it would be the gamesmanship that is ever more prevalent in the game than in all the years Iv'e been watching. As for lining the pockets of the players, I think you'll find that its the SKY money that is responsible for that. The way I look at it, my hard earned cash goes to pay the wages of the people running the club. The modern day 'pub and armchair fans' are more responsible for the sky high wages!

derek smalls Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) you can sum this thread up really. its called old age. its because you`re older and you no longer idolise the players like you did when you were a kid. you can see right through it for what it is. a cynical money making machine. dont kid yourself its ever been any different, you just didn`t notice it when you were younger you`ve probably got a wife and kids and better things to spend your cash on too. also, weve been at pretty much our peak for so many years now the only way is down which doesnt inspire anyone does it? you think the players arent trying? playing shit isnt necessarily a side effect of not trying. some days it just doesnt flow and when youve been battered 5-0 in your own backyard your ego must take a bruising. im no fan of eagles, reo-coker or petrov but if anything I would say they are probably trying too hard. support someone else but its not the same. you won`t have involuntary spasms when they miss a sitter or let a shit goal in, you`ll just do like the kid behind the bar and laugh. and when they win you wont walk home with a smile on your face and spend all evening watching every footy program on the box to see what people say about our world beating display. im not a regular attender these days but its in my blood and it always will be. my young un tried to follow the urinals for a while (hes only little) but i explained it to him. i told him how it is. he supports BWFC whether he likes it or not. it took him a while but now he understands. passion not fashion sums it up beautifully. the glass is half full Edited September 20, 2011 by derek smalls

Guest Biff Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Bolton played magnificently last night and beat Villa 2-0. Chorley lost at home in the FA Cup to a team from a lower division. The turncoats will be returning.
