no balls
I was born/live in bucket shaker country? Could that explain it? They don't eat pasty barms in Bury? I'm sure Casino's had a few in his time. Odd.
Site Supporter fatolive Posted January 10, 2012 Site Supporter Share Posted January 10, 2012 It could do I suppose, but I think they eat them there too, It is, after all, only a pasty on a barm, no real secret recipes or owt.

Site Supporter fatolive Posted January 10, 2012 Site Supporter Share Posted January 10, 2012 There is an art in eating them though. that is true, but the extra size gobs found on the average Bury inhabitant means they would not have to put as much thought into it. Site Supporter Alf Hartigan Posted January 10, 2012 Site Supporter Share Posted January 10, 2012 Now I've read some weird stuff on here, but a Bolton fan who's never heard of a Pasty Barm takes the biscuit... I have a pasty barm every weekday from Armstrongs on Morris Green Lane.
Marc505
Awesome stuff and a great hangover cure. Can lead to shambolic scenes if you ask for one outside of Bolton though, tried in Chorley and Bury and they're clueless.
Breightmet Boy
Pasty Barm, with Ketchup, from Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe!! Correct (no ketchup), the best pasty barm in Bolton

Youri McAnespie
...and as bolty and eg will confirm, it shouldn't be a barm in bolton mancified bumders its a pasty flour cake Barm is acceptable, even if a Manc term, because there is no other foodstuff called barm/barmcake (although I prefer flourcake). It's when mongalongs use terms like muffin or teacake that gets my goat. I don't give a sh*t if "...that's what we call it in Dingleville". If I had a chippy I'd keep the aforementioned sweet treats in stock, just in case some numpty asked for a 'chip muffin' or 'fish on a teacake'... Two Pastie Shoppe pasties squashed on a flourcake with a dash of Encona hot sauce - magnifique!
