Bolton Wanderers and England under 21's midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed during the FA Cup quarter-final at White Hart Lane as Tottenham Hotspur hosted Bolton Wanderers.

Fabrice 23, received medical treatment while on the field of play shortly after collapsing in the 41st minute of the game. Fabrice was then rushed to hospital as the game was abandoned by match official Howard Webb after consultation with both managers Owen Coyle and Harry Redknapp.

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Fabrice.

Update

Fabrice is stable although in a critical condition in intensive care in the Heart Attack Cente at the London Chest hospital.

Don't even know why, could of easily put a Spurs player on the back but I got an England shirt with Muamba on the back today.   Hello to you lot by the way, as you probably guessed I'm a Spurs fan!

  • Retiring the shirt is the most ridiculous thing I think I have ever heard.

Many thanks, sorry to be numb but where/what is the Alaxandra? Any news on his recovery, when do they think he will be out and about, what are the prospects of a return as a player to BWFC?

Cheadle.

No. Though they've moved him and he had a big cake done for the other place so he must be on the mend.

Not much else been said.

Don't hold your breath re: playing again. The lad has a big decision to make, which could literally be life or death.

In a statement, Fabrice Muamba - discharged from hospital - says: "I am naturally very pleased to be discharged from hospital and would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to every single member of staff at The London Chest Hospital who have played a part in my care. Their dedication, professionalism and expertise is simply amazing and I will forever be in their debt. I also wish to say thank you to all the many well-wishers who have sent thousands of messages of support. Now I am out of hospital, I am looking forward to continuing my recovery and spending precious time with my family."

Can't see him being at the game this weekend, but wouldn't be suprised if He turns out for the Spurs home game!

I know the word 'miracle' has been chucked about a bit but I'm not sure he warrants the capital letter!
