Eddie
So are we only saying mavies can play in one position now then? He cant play central in a 442 He cant play in one of the deeper 2 central roles in a 451 He has to play beyond a holding 2 in a 451 Is that what were saying about our potential player of the season and future england international? Im not stating this, im asking the question If only others were given so many excuses...... In a word, yes. I don't get what you're getting at, thats his position, playing off the striker, an attacking midfielder if you like. If that means that he isn't as good as people think, because he isn't the most versatile then so be it, but when played in his preferred position he is a very very good player. He's like Van Der Vaart (and no I don't think he is anywhere near as good), Van Der Vaart is pretty much a specialist in that position, he's not a striker but ask him to play as a central midfielder with defensive duties and responsibilities then he wouldn't be half the player he is. A lot of people consider Mark Davies to be a centre mid and expect him to be just as good whether he plays in a more attacking role or in a more disciplined role. In reality they couldn't be more wrong, he can just about do a job when he plays more defensively but almost every part of his natural game is taken away from him, like I say it would be like Redknapp asking Van Der Vaart to do a job sitting in centre mid. He is a quality player (I've never mentioned England btw) and he will get better, but don't expect him to be consistently good when he's played out of position. Guest
In my view He isn't a future interntional Is, currently, a one-trick pony Isn't physical enough to be in a 2 But, is good enough to be in an exceptional 3 (Holden, Mavies, NRC)
jagermoot
Paul McGrath on goals on sunday summed it up brilliantly No fight Which is worryin as all the other relegation stragglers seem to be playin out of their skins, wiggin very unlucky yesterday I think we should have a competition where the winner gets to do the team talks
Mounts Kipper
The Problem is we are Playing With 2 out and out wingers and that will always weaken you defensively and Coyle seems to want to play Pratley Further forward than Davies in my eyes an error of judgement Davies is clearly the better option in that role, unfortunately we don't have another genuine fit bread and butter midfield option so that is the conundrum Coyle has to figure out a plan, he also has to stop switching players out of position to accommodate what he thinks are his bright young things, although the rest of us already know there not really that bright. The fact is Coyle messed up and if he puts his head on straight we can steady the ship, now is not the time to press the panic button, just time for one of the senior pros to kick Coyle up the arse. HoldensHairdo
Carrying too many players who just aren't good enough.. Pratley - headless chicken N'Gog - ball just bounces off him and not strong enough to hold up the ball Eagles - crossing is crap and too lightweight Alonso - cant defend and no pace All of these arent up to it and don't deserve to be in that starting eleven. HoldensHairdo
Fair enough but even carrying 3 players against any premership side is suicide... I am not going to say that today was the be all and end all as it seemed everyone had a bad day at the office and every team as those but Coyle needs to learn from it and change his selection tomorrow accordingly... Bogdan Steinsson Ream Wheater Ricketts Ryo NRC Mavies Petrov Sordell SKD/NGog Give Sordell a chance, let him loose in a game we are all expecting nothing from... He needs game time as may as well have not spent the money in Jan
HoldensHairdo
I agree with the Ryo comment - but he is best of a bad bunch on the right wing
Ben Der
I dont think Mr Miyagi is all that either. He is very easy to read IMO. a few step overs, down the outside cut in and cross it. Unfortunatley more often than nt, he doesnt get past the step over part of the process! That said, there is no other option at the minute so we just have to hope he starts producing the magic we have been told he can create

frank_spencer
Disagree, all the others yes. Indeed, there was a punt out of defence yesterday that pretty much had snow on it and N'Gog stopped it dead at his feet and laid it off nicely to Cyril Davies.
