Proud to say I was there & night likes that put relegation from the prem into perspective.

I was 18 at the time & remember bumping into one lad who had taken his latest bird to the match, cannot think of a better way to impress the ladies! :blum:

She took the place of a real fan that night

The other "i was there" was Scarborough away 4-0, though we did take a good two thousand, 8,000 claimed to be there. Plod helmets flying i recall

Went from the Albion in Little Hulton, took a right mob of lads, for some reason it was decided that we should go a day early and stay in Whitley Bay, I was the lucky one designated to share a room with Isaacunt, any how in the Disco downstairs pulled a local from Cramlington classy piece in fake red leather :), took her back to the room as you would, an hour later Isaac returned only to find the door well and truly locked, there was no way he was getting back into the room, he was non to pleased in the morning. :)

I was there in the Manny Road north stand.

The comment made above about Sam and his half-hearted performance and general lack of fitness is right.

I remember a similar performance from Sam the same season in a pathetic August 1-4 home defeat to Bury, the first time we'd played them since about 1968.

I was at Darlington & Scarborough. Remember that they'd played Wolves just before, & as we got there the sign telling us we were entering Scarborough was spray painted out with the words 'wolves on tour' sprayed next to it.

Always makes me think of this......

There's competition with Scarborough and Darlington from that period in the "it couldn't get any worse" stakes.

Newport 2 Bolton 1 in the ankle deep mud just before we got relegated to Div 4

Bolton 1 Chester 2 in the Freight Rover the same season - we all hoped we were going to Wembley again.

Wolves 4 Bolton 0 in Div 4. Loads of trouble and a really shit performance.

the afore mentioned match at scarborough. 30 of us crammed into a tranny van,on the lash all day. sporadic brawls with the scooterboys round town then staggering ticketless to the ground, numbers swelling to about 60 by now.

we tried to get in the home end but a solitary woman copper opened a gate and announced ''you lot can't come in here without tickets''...................aye,whatever,60 pissed up lads straight into their end, then escorted straight into the away end.

i've never seen so many pissed lads in an away end in my life. it seemed like the entire end was pure lads and all were steamboats !!!!
