Underpants Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I'm no wine connoisseur, and if given the Pepsi challenge I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an expencive bottle from a reasonably priced one. If it's white, fruity, 12% and no more than £6 I'll buy it. And I don't care which country it comes from. Anything more than 6 quid is a waste of money. . Quote
stevieb Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Drink Rose with the Mrs an have paid £6.75 in a supermarket. #posh Quote

no balls Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Bit of a wine snob (never, I hear you say) in some people's eyes, but they're usually the ones who sup shite. I don't see it as snobbery, but liking nice stuff. You wouldn't buy cheap and nasty cordial either would you? The parents always loved their wine so I grew up supping it, the stepfather has part of a vineyard and most of it in his wine cellar which is handy. I like wine. And yes 6 quid wine is fine. I don't touch that oak shit though, why lick a tree? Edited September 11, 2012 by no balls Quote
Con Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Pouilly Fume or Pouilly Fuisse, usually around 12 quid a bottle, or Sancerre, slightly cheaper ar around 9 quid. All of them french and very leafy. If its red then Chianti, at a fiver a throw. Pink wine is for birds. Quote
jules_darby Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Like a bit of Malbec at the moment I think this is BD's area Quote

Sweep Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I'm drinking some proper shift at the minute whilst watching the football, but it's free do can't complain. Anyhow, I like my wines and don't mind paying around a tenner a bottle, especially for a decent Sancerre or Rioja. Quote
Andydee Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Might need more than 3 bottles for everyone on a friday night Nb! Dave, does that mean you've only supped 9 bottles in 9 months? Edited September 11, 2012 by Andydee Quote

Traf Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I've drank 3 quid wine and liked it and I've bought wine at more than a ton a bottle and it has been shite. But generally I wouldn't pay more than 15, unless it's a really nice CDP, which is TDB, isn't it CWP? Quote
DazBob Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I suspect it's one of them with little tree in it. Dunno. It's nice and smooth and 13.5%. I'm happy with it. Quote

DazBob Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I've now got 30 cigs to smoke with my wine. A good evening's work I'd say. Quote
