Also I don't think the inexperience thing really matters. You only have to look at Chelsea and all the so called world class managers that have failed there when previously they've been great!

I've stated this before, our development squad is absolutely crucial, if this new way of running things is going to work. Look at the stat elsewhere about the starting 11 of Ajax last night - lofty ambitions, but why not aspire to be the best? The days of attracting World Cup winners are gone, who says we can't bring through a player who'll go on to win a World Cup (I presume we have some Johnny Foreigners in the Academy?). Point being, if we want the best at Academy level, if we want continuity there - why use it for first team management/coaching to 'learn their trade'. It should no longer be seen as a poor relation to being involved with the 1st team lot.

I'm freaked out!

I know absolutely nothing about Dougie Freedman or any of his backroom staff. I genuinely have no idea if this is a good, bad or indifferent appointment. What I do know is they need to hit the ground running, we have three very tough games coming up, and we need to continue some of the more positive form we have shown against Bristol and Wolves.

 

I hope they do the business for us COYWM!!

Good luck to him and let's all get behind him. I think we can all agree there is something to strive for this season. Definitely have a feeling of new belief/optimism.

Love him to do well for obvious reasons, but you can guarantee if he does and a bigger club (or one offering bigger wages) comes knocking, this last week has shown us that he'll drop us like a hot spud.

 

Hopefully he'll be dropping us when we're back in the Prem, with the new deal cash in our pockets.

Iirc scolari wasn't a big hit. But my point being that experience doesn't always guarantee success across the board. So we shouldn't write him off and give him the backing coyle got.
