April 10, 201313 yr Wembley woe for Wigan as FA open neutral section after Latics fail to sell 10,000 tickets http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport...
April 11, 201313 yr Fucking peasants, how often do their fans get a day in the sun? at least they should have sold is 20000, anyway fuck em, hope they wave to us on their way down.
April 11, 201313 yr If I remember correctly we didn't sell out our allocation for our Semi, I believe we sold 26k so we can't be too critical. As we all know the major issue they have is that Wigan is essentially a RL town and to expect the locals to double up for both sports is asking a lot in this economic climate.

April 11, 201313 yr Back in the day when i was seeing a wench in Wiggin, they had more than 20 trains to Wembley that day in 85, Never seen an ale pile so much in my life. what got took off them. Edited April 11, 201313 yr by leigh white
April 11, 201313 yr What is bollocks? The point is that many of the egg chuckers wouldn't cross the street to watch football and seem to hate WAFC particularly so the 'doubling up' argument doesn't wash. It is a rugby town so for me that gives us another reason to look down on their football outfit. I'm not particularly bothered about 'numbers' but why exactly does the fact we took 26-28k (which as other threads have shown is about 5k lower than we would have expected) mean we can't smile at Wiggins truly pathetic sub 10,000 and the unprecedented neutral section? Peasants.
April 11, 201313 yr Not much but I owe them a bit of an apology. Have re read the article, they have failed to sell 10,000 of their allocation so they will have sold around 20,000. Still think the playing of semi finals at Wembley is e bigger issue, utter rip off and devaluing of FA Cup Final.
April 11, 201313 yr You would expect them to sell more as its one match from the final, but I bet if they win they won't struggle to sell final tickets. I think it is wrong that the semi's are played at Wembley as it does devalue the final. Why don't they use the Millenium for the semi's or do the FA have a massive bill for Wembley so it's fuck the fans and lets bring everyone to the shithole that is London.

Unfortunately, we're all paying the price for the redeveloped stadium and will be for many years to come. This is the FA's fault, not Wigan's. They'd have sold most of their end at Villa Park. Which is where it should be played.

April 11, 201313 yr The problems of playing semis at Cardiff was shown that year Blackburn played arsenal in an early kick off and it was pretty deserted. An absolutely ridiculous decision to play at that venue and at that time. I know the semis are contracted to play at Wembley for years now so theres nothing that can be done, but it was always so much better to see them played at places like villa park. Good job I re checked this before I sent it, my phone kept changing 'semis' to 'penis'! *Just checked, it was 52,000 for Arsenal v Blackburn so not deserted, but still 20,000 empty seats Edited April 11, 201313 yr by Marc505
April 11, 201313 yr Bloody disgusting the FA setting up Neutral zones full of troops between the Millwall and Wigan. Where do they think it is Korea? Edited April 11, 201313 yr by pato
April 11, 201313 yr loving the fact they cant sell anywhere near all the tickets make me laugh but i cannot say much as they are in the prem and facup semi and we are not. how the hell can we laugh about other clubs support?? Anyway i hope Millwall turn up and send the pie munchers home with their tail firmly between their legs.

Anyway i hope Millwall turn up and send the pie munchers home with their tail firmly between their legs. spose because people laugh at ours and it's all part of the food chain some mock when Utd sometimes have empty seats, others when Wigan do all the time and teams mock ours, teams who also have empty seats, like Sunderland this season it's all a load of old bollocks
April 11, 201313 yr We (ie football fans) have to pay for the new Wembley even if we didn't want it and didn't ask for it.
April 11, 201313 yr We (ie football fans) have to pay for the new Wembley even if we didn't want it and didn't ask for it. Aye. Plus there's also the fact that it's inherantly unfair in terms of the advantage it gives to teams geographically close to Wembley. I know you could say the same about the final, but that's always sold out and people would move heaven and earth to get to it in ways they wouldn't for a semi.
April 11, 201313 yr I detest Wigan for their jealousy and hatred against us; but saying that they have sold more tickets than I ever expected them to do at about 21000. If we make it to a play off final this year then how many will we sell following the knightmare Stoke semi final - I would hope that we would muster at least 25000 but you never know Anyway fuck um and up the Wall for Saturday night
