jules_darby
Lived at Kelbrook Court in Offerton, Just off Alfreton Road, Cheadle Hulme was okay,, but has more than its fair share of knobs out and about. Have friends in Marple, nice place. Near Half moon lane? Marple is a BWFC hotbed In fact a bungalow on Marple Road in Offerton used to have Bolton pics in the front room.....never knew who it was though Cheadle Hulme is nice towards Bramhall Park....I think the new Waitrose made folk think they were living in Bel Air though! Ghana White
Cheadle Hulme's alright, parts of offerton aren't the greatest but there's far worse places about. I like Stockport besides where mentioned and a couple of other parts

Site Supporter Alf Hartigan Posted June 12, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted June 12, 2013 Skelmersdale closely followed by Ellesmere Port. I've had the misfortune to work in both.
Youri McAnespie
Great Lever really is fucking grim, up there with anywhere. It's a contender. As Spaz says, there's a few parts of Bolton I wouldn't venture into unless I had to. I'll rise to this parochial bait I suspect you've only ventured around the bits bordering town, Morris Green and Burnden - I'm struggling to think why you'd be venturing there in the first place tho'? Worst places in England? Bolton can't really be pigeonholed - there are absolute shit-tips within a stone's throw of nice gaffs all over the town... I'm looking at my patch of heaven on the map - it's all golf course, farmer's fields, reservoirs, cricket grounds, playing fields, woods and parks. That's probably why I'm so fiercely proud and defensive - it's the ideal prowling ground for a burgeoning serial flasher and brown-eyer, like me. I can strike then scurry back to the safety of my lair(s). Edited June 13, 2013 by Youri McAnespie
Youri McAnespie
Someone will probably get flashed in G/L now, and I'll end up getting the five 'o' clock knock by virtue of what I've written in 'jest' on the t'internet.
Judge Fudge
Great Lever really is fucking grim, up there with anywhere. To be fair I don't think Great Lever is as bad as I used to be in the 90's. Around that time Mancroft, Concrete City and Morrison/Leonard St etc were mostly boarded up fucking hovels. A lot of smack heads as well. Loads of money spent and CCTV on the estates have made an improvement IMO. Think Bolton as a whole has improved since that period (thinking about the estates rather than town centre) Back then Top oth Brow, De Lacy, Hiberna St area, Bromwich St, bottom of Halliwell Road and Mancroft etc were basically slums. Gumbo
So was born in farnworth, lived in offerton, marple and hazel grove and currently Woodford prior to moving Back to the grove! So that covers many areas folk don't like! And according to the book crap towns, hull smells of death
Moderators Carlos Posted June 13, 2013 Moderators Share Posted June 13, 2013 I grew up near De Lacy, attending primary across the road. A street so fucked up, they knocked it down. I was still shocked at the state of G/L.

( small and she's a murderers season ticket holder) When I'm at the lights at the Sea View of a morning where they've put that big stone wall saying BUCKSHAW, I get scared I'm going to get sucked into that place. I really do feel so uncomfortable in purpose built towns. Maybe there's a medical condition. Edited June 13, 2013 by no balls

That huge area what is Buckshaw Village, was never on a map when it was an ordnance factory, so just pretend it doesn't exist.
Site Supporter barryk32 Posted June 13, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted June 13, 2013 We had to venture into buckshaw village (is that the one in chorley?) for a job. It was like stepford wives, I found it really eerie. Give me jonny fow any day over that.
