Danny G Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 where does he suggest the yanks shot it down? I never said he did Quote
Spider Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I never said he did If he said it's been shot down, I might lend the idea some credibility As it is, a nobody who needs a few quid is doing it. Anyway, those ITK know that it landed in North Korea and the passengers are being turned into soup or spies Quote
bolty58 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Well that's a bit shit in Columbia Imagine being fans of that club. Whole team decimated. Sad news indeed. Quote
Sweep Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Imagine being fans of that club. Whole team decimated. Sad news indeed. It would be grim if anything like that happens to the team you follow Although it happened to a certain team down the road, and now nearly 60 years later some of our fans still like to sing songs about it Quote
MalcolmW Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 It would be grim if anything like that happens to the team you follow Although it happened to a certain team down the road, and now nearly 60 years later some of our fans still like to sing songs about it It happened to Torino in 1949(?) and took them years to recover. If only the Muslim countries had decided to play against Israel in the 1958 world cup qualifiers then Israel would not have had to play against Wales for the sole Africa/Asia qualifying spot, and Jimmy Murphy would have travelled with his club team. Instead, as Wales manager he did not, and was able to keep his club viable in the short term. Quote
birch-chorley Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 I wonder if anyone thinks that this plane crash has been rigged to bury news of the rayguns grooming kids somewhere Quote

Marc505 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Ive read other Brazilian teams are waiving loan fees so players can join them to let the club continue. A fine gesture but i cant imagine how difficult it would be to turn out for the club any time soon. PSG also donated 40 million Quote
MancWanderer Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Read somewhere that their opponents in the upcoming Cup Final have asked that the trophy be awarded to them No idea if it's true but a nice gesture if so Quote
bolty58 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Nice one Malcolm. I have mentioned Superga to a few people over the years and received blank looks in return. Yet everyone remembers the Munich air disaster. In South America, a great gesture by the other team they were due to play in suggesting they take the trophy. In the history of Chapecoense, that trophy will take on almost religious significance in the future. A poignant symbol of remembrance. Great to see the football community around the world coming together to assist. I wonder if sympathy from around the world will make them into a powerful, wealthy club? Quote
Traf Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly sent them 3 million Euro. Quote
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Read somewhere that their opponents in the upcoming Cup Final have asked that the trophy be awarded to them No idea if it's true but a nice gesture if so Yup. I read that too. Forfeiting the match so that they can win it by default. I hope I never live to see something like that happen to my team. Quote
gonzo Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly sent them 3 million Euro. He's a self centred cunt that's only done that for his own self importance. Remember that Quote
Traf Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 He's a self centred cunt that's only done that for his own self importance. Remember that Obvs, innit. Anyway, when I first saw the title Plane Down, I though it was going to be telling us how Heather Mills gets her leg so silky smooth. Quote
bgoefc Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) Tragic that the plane ran out of fuel. Apparently it abandoned a refuelling stop as it was behind schedule and the airport in Bolivia did not operate in daylight hours. Then when at its destination in Columbia air traffic control would not let it land even though the pilot told them of its predicament as another plane had earlier told them it had mechanical difficulties and had priority. Human error all round. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/dec/01/chapecoense-air-crash-fans-plane-fuel-colombia Edited December 1, 2016 by bgoefc Quote

Zico Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 the daily mail managed to find a "silver lining" in that the co-pilot was fit http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3989820/Pictured-beautiful-pilot-killed-Colombia-plane-crash-flight-haunting-footage-shows-interview-footballers-crew-doomed-jet-took-off.html as much as I like a perve, I cannot see any reason to go with that angle Quote
