Lever Ender in L.A. Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 An Arsenal fan told me that after he had broken the Arsenal scoring record with an hat-trick against us......one of our lot wrote him a letter basically say you're a greedy bastard ...you only needed two goals to break the record, Mr Wright wrote him back including one of his socks and told him to " smell my success " Quote
mannyroad58 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I like Ian Wright and he loved playing for England Quote

Danny G Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I like Ian Wright and he loved playing for England Few English players love their country more than he does. Quote
mannyroad58 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 He was superb in Rome that night. Correct and i've had a little "man crush" on him ever since Quote
frank_spencer Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 The footage of him bouncing around the itv studios during England games always raises a smile. Didn't he try lumping someone in the stands when they were slagging off BWP? Quote
Marc505 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I remember him hitting the post in Rome late on, then it breaking to the other end and Vieri missing that header. Martin Tyler saying something "all the drama of top level sport encapsulated in those few seconds". It was exhausting watching that. Wright was in the tunnel after pleading with Hoddle to take him to France 98 on live telly too. I like the bloke. Quote

HazzyinBolton Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I once went to watch England away in Stockholm & had tickets in their end. He was warming up in front of us & was getting loads of shit of the Swedes - beer/coins being thrown at him. He just turned round, stood still facing the fans & starting grabbing & kissing his England badge - He was loving it. Quote
pato Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Remember when he go the record goal against us , there was a photo for Shoot or some other magazine of him celebrating and Zozzy flicking him the V's in the background really helped the court case from the city championship win a couple of weeks later. I can't believe Zozzy is 50. Quote
