Gartside paid him as per his contract which he is legally obliged to do.

Contracts in football; manager, shit at his job is fired, paid up in full. Player wants to break a contract & move to another club, no major problem. Club wants to get rid of a player who no one wants, has to pay him off in full.

Nice work if u can get it.

And since then ? Pullis gave him some work at Stoke as a mate but not much else.

Megson is a cunt, even if people think he was ok as a manager surely everyone agrees he is a cunt ?

Such a mate that he didn't pay him ha ha.

Fixed term contracts are like that in a lot of industries.

Player can not just walk if he wants which is where transfer fee comes in, new club is paying to break the contract on behalf of player.

Was he not at Stoke when we appointed him? Or is my mind playing tricks on me?

He is a cunt but he could have been a cunt for me if we got results. We were going down with him and that's a fact.

No we poached him from Leicester.

And no he would have kept us up, he had a clue.

Aye course, old age is setting in. We were going down though, the atmosphere was toxic and getting worse.

Not that it matters now we are were we are so let's get on with it.

Don't really want to get into all this again, but I will anyway! :-)

He'd already kept us up twice, including an easy mid table finish.

There's nothing to suggest he couldn't do it again.

The points total needed when he left to survive was relatively a small one that even with a sour atmosphere was achievable.

All in IMO of course.

The guy was a cunt, his tenure was poisonous. But he did the job he was asked to do.

If he had he wouldn't have been sacked would he?

People quoting PPG or his previous seasons are ignoring momentum and the gathering negativity / lack of confidence from the players who had lost faith too...these things don't just play out on averages

He was taking us down and the club into a terrible place

Spot on. Worst time I have ever had being a Bolton fan. Was a struggle to go to games.

we can either use averages, stats and facts or we can guess

How about the fact we were in the relegation zone?

You seem inclined all season to "guess" when it comes to Freedman and the reasons for his lack of success rather than look at the "facts" - I.e. Poor results and league placings

Wolves away was the one where I was desperate for him to go. We score hardly anyone cheered and people were muttering that will buy him another week.

I think I went straight home and to bed.

Deila appointed as Celtic Manager. So no Coyle there. Perhaps West Brom or Southampton might appoint Coyle. We will wait and see.

Sami Hypia appointed Brighton manager. Another job bites the dust for Coyle.

I don't see Could getting anything in the top two divisions, in fact I reckon he'll have to go back to Scotland if he wants to rebuild his career, and even the bigger clubs there probably won't touch him with a bargepole either

Bollocks. He'll walk into a decent job in Scotland. Probably get another punt in the Championship too. More chance than the allegedly hard done to Gary Megson anyway.
