I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Ogbeta subbed off after 56mins

His challenge (or lack of) was weak as piss for their second goal.

On this showing Rooney won't make it to October

His 'cross' just earlier on one of their rare breaks was unforgivable for a professional footballer.

I've asked this before but what is the threshold for retro?

Would people class The Squiggle Badge stuff as retro?

I'm still thinking 90s and nothing over.

Retro is usually 20+ years old so anything pre 2004.

Wednesday looking good, but Plymouth are shite. How Ogbeta got a gig there, God knows!

Oh my fucking god, this is going to be a long season.

Absolute shambles and Rooney only one couldn’t see we needed another midfielder on.

Ogbeta got hooked while he still had some skin left after being skinned alive every time

Never a championship player

20+ years old so the first year or two of the ribbons just about sneak in

he'll be back on the overlap before October and that's where he should stay

Never a manager

Gardner's son played for Stockport yesterday, 17

If Rooney is seeing a championship player in Ogbeta its not a good sign.  He did have some half decent games for us and scored a couple with nice finishes, we've had a lot worse, but he's a long way from being championship standard as you will now know.  And no disrespect to Vic but again, I'd be concerned if he was being touted for the championship (although that "link" could be total bollocks).

Apparently 2 Plymouth players had their names incorrectly spelt on their shirts 🤦‍♂️

Picking up where he left off then.

Sorry if anyone else mentioned it but I did enjoy that cunt Evans smashing his penalty over the bar.

Shame the bar didn't smash into him. Dirty bastard.

Mansfield!

Fair turnout as well, think they'll take a few all over these.

40 miles away...
First game of the season...
Newly promoted...

No surprises that they took a few really.

How fast is that Burnley mon bloody hell.

From the bbc sport pages.

Luton 0-2 Burnley

BBC Three Counties Radio sport

Doughty has to test the goalkeeper with these free-kicks. Trafford's shown he can't catch a cold. Doughty has to do better than crashing it into the wall."

I know Traff got caught out from time to time, coming for things he shouldn't, but I thought his handling was good. Not sure why this mon thinks he would particularly struggle with a free kick on goal.

Luton seem to have gone full Parky ball.

Burnley a class above atm.

Not seen anything of the game. Is Traff having a mare?

Not seen it either I've got the wireless on Radio 2 as I'm clearly approaching death. Just saw it on BBC, seemed a bit harsh to publish that

The Luton player waltzed through a tapped it in with a challenge or marker.

That's not the keepers fault ffs
