Underpants Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Rooney's hat-trick goal against West Ham tonight. What a goal! One of them own half efforts. One of the best of them I've seen. Quote
Marc505 Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Second time he’s done that against West Ham! Quote
Didledee Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 (edited) Crazy goal from Rooney that reminds me of this Edited November 29, 2017 by Didledee Quote
Marc505 Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 I still prefer a volley in off the bar or a flying header to booting it into an empty net from downtown Quote
Didledee Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Can anyone remember a Bolton player scoring from their own half? Bergsson vs Barnsley and Campo v Spurs were quite a way out, Craig Davies scored from far out in an empty net. Quote
Farrelli Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Hugh Curran once scored a header from 40 yards, or seemed like it as a nine year old! Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Jim mcdonagh I was there v Burnley and my memory is telling me he hit it from Embankment, took a bounce and went over the keeper at Lever End. Another thing I remember about Jim is his blue shirt. Most keepers wore green in those days. Had this conversation before but can't remember anyone confirming owt Quote

Rizlar Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Bogdan at Everton if my memory is correct. Quote
White on Tyne Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Sadly wrong end. Howard hoofed it over bogdan's head from his own area. Quote
Zico Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Bogdan at Everton if my memory is correct. He was on the receiving end Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 We sneaked into the changing rooms in the late 70s and my mate nicked a dirty blue mcdonagh top was a thing of beauty. Quote
Zico Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 There's some video somewhere on youtube that explains it Might also be why loads of palace fans didn't get in: https://twitter.com/AwayDays_/status/935620548138323969 Turns out it was because a load steamed in without tickets https://twitter.com/footyawayday/status/935977355381825536 Quote

We used to have to back our exercise books at school One of mine was adorned with a blue shirted mcdonagh...probs from shoot or match Handed it in once and didn't get it back Teacher denied ever having had it Couple of weeks later was called to staff room and really couldn't think what I had done Anyway, he just wanted to give me it back, autographed by mcdonagh Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 City 96th minute winnerEnded up going to the City game last night as a mate had a spare ticket and the winner was an absolute pearler. It was always going to take something special to win it though as Southampton just whacked ten men on the edge of their own box once they’d equalised, couldn’t be doing with watching that every week. Piss poor atmosphere and all and for some reason you had to go outside for the bogs. Padded seats were comfy though. I know plenty have said it before but it really wouldn’t bother me if we never played in the Premier League again save for the odd season for novelty value. As a footnote, my phone initially corrected ‘pearler’ to ‘Pratley’. Quote
