I'd give him another year. He'll not play every week, but he's still got it. And Clough can only benefit having him to learn from.

I would give him another year and I could see him managing the club in the future so I think he should be retained after that as a coach if that is a route he wants to go down, hope if he does get the BWFC gig one day Gudni is involved in the mix.

Id be happy with this. His aim was to give himself a chance of getting back into contention with Iceland, so he'd still be up for the challenge, and he has been invaluable in the injury crisis, no lose situation for me.

It will of course depend on how much money he wants, and how much budget we have. I don't think we're in much of a position to be paying wages to somebody who might not be able to play every week.

A team managed by Eidur Gudjohnsen would have "strong English defending and Spanish flair up front", although he is not quite sold on the idea of becoming a manager yet. He is coming round to it, though.

"Up until now, I've always said I won't go into management," he says. "But then as you get closer to the end, you feel like you've got a lot to give. A lot of advice to give and a lot of ideas of how you would want your team to play. I've obviously worked with a lot of top managers. You never know.

I'm leaning towards it more than I have done in the past but that is not to say I will definitely go that way. I thought about starting my coaching badges. I might start in the new year. But I really haven't decided. I'm just enjoying my football too much."

Wasn't convinced before we signed him though I was also excited. Strange position to be in.

I'm still similar; I think we are better for having him around, but not sure he's offering enough

On the fence 'til the end of the season I think

I heard quite a number of people getting on his back for not working hard enough (until his goal went in then it went quiet) against Fulham midweek.

I'm of broadly the same opinion of Jules although I do think when he comes on he's absolutely class with the ball at his feet.

Ripe for a "Heskey & Gudjohnsen In Review" thread at the end of the season.

Morons.

I would definitely give Eidur another year.

Tough one because he's definitely got something to offer. But then if keeping him detracts from adding another centre forward to help Craig Davies out, then we absolutely can't afford to keep him.

Eidur is definitely worth another deal so long as the core squad is in place around him, because he is a bit part player.

I'd have him for another season, no way is he a 90 minute player now, but if you're chasing a game I can't think of a steadier head to bring on, and it couldn't do any harm in getting his coaching badges, as somebody said earlier.......... future Manager? could do worse.

Assuming he wants to play on, its a no brainer to have him for one more season. He can still cut it at this level, and his experience will be invaluable if we are to make a push next season.

People need to realise that he's 37 and he's not going to be running around chasing players down. That's not his role. There are grafters in the team to do that job.

This is spot on. The touch and class is still there but at his age the stamina isn't- as we all knew would be the case. I think it's been great having him back with us, and I'd love to see him stay for another season, pass on his experience and play his part.

I'm just glad we've seen him score in that white shirt again, fantastic moment.

Being called up for his national team again apparently , fair play he must be buzzin.

That's why he restarted his career.

It's been brilliant to see him back at Bolton. I reckon there's another 12 months in those legs and a good solid pre season might actually make him even better.

As the crunch match is in September he will be very keen on a flying start next season.
