BoltonPro15 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Oh yeah ribery at munich. Even through the drunken haze he looked like the best kid at school playing football with kids from the year below. Thank god they took him off. I cant actually remeber Ribery having that good a game. To be fair to Frank, he was up aganst Gerald Cid. The mighty Gerald Cid Quote
Ghana White Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Gerald Cid. That is in fairness a very good point. Quote
Whites man Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Not from the top drawer but every time we played Villa for years Gareth Barry was the best player on the pitch. Quote
Anderson Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Not from the top drawer but every time we played Villa for years Gareth Barry was the best player on the pitch. Remember Barry's screamer for City against us a couple of years back? I was sat right behind that and it was the most painfully glorious thing I've seen Quote
jules_darby Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Best season in, season out was Stephen Gerrard.Against us consistently? Ryan Giggs I know and I'm sorry Quote
Zico Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I cant actually remeber Ribery having that good a game. him and podolski were relentless in coming at us all game was a relief when they both went off Quote
gonzo Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Robbie Fowler did alright against us. Was it just the 3 hatricks or 4? Quote
Traf Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Was it just the 3 hatricks or 4? Just 2, I think. He got 4 when we lost 5-2 at Anfield He got all 3 in a 3-0 defeat at home to Leeds on the coldest Boxing Day ever He got 2 for City when we lost 3-1 and he's scored in 3 or 4 other games against us. Quote
Zico Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Henry probably the "best player" I've seen against us - personally think he's the most world class player of the last 15-20 years, with Gerrard having the best performance bloody loved some of the goals Henry scored such as Quote
Fengshui Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I had the pleasure of watching Henry this season for New York Red Bulls and he scored 2, still oozed class. But saying that, Bradley Wright Phillips looked class also, in the yank league. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Arguably not the very best, but Frank Lampard is a player I've always admired. Solid, dependable and contributes more than his fair share of goals Quote
jayjayoghani Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I enjoyed this one as well Aye. Very few goals when you think, have I just seen that? Barthez did nothing but watch too Quote
frank_spencer Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 It felt like Jason fucking Roberts always scored against us. It was always cold, pissing it down and a shit dull nil nil the entire ground miserable as fuck. Then on 85 minutes on came Roberts to scab one in for who ever he was employed by that season and make me even more twatting miserable. No idea if this factually correct or not but it seemed that way. Quote

no balls Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Thierry will be on Sky Sports come next season. Which is nice Quote
Bigtoe Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Got to say that double save from Jussi from Henry was top drawer. Quote
Spider Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Ronaldo on his debut against us at old twatford. I know he only had Nicky Hunt to beat, but even so he was (and still is) playing on a different planet. Soz, etcs.. Quote

Soz, etcs.. which end were you in back then? to be fair to hunt, he went straight though him before he'd had his first touch then got bum raped Quote

ianovit Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 bobby barnes I am glad somebody else remembers Barnes destroying us whilst playing for Northampton - a real low point. I also agree about Jason Roberts - he seemed to revel in playing against Wanderers. Painful to say but Twinkle toes is the best around. Quote
superkev Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Ruud Gullit Remember watching him against Chelsea at Burnden and still say it was the best individual performance against us I've ever seen. Quote
