I've gone past the point where I think they're destructive - and am now of the opinion that they're nefarious. 

It's not a huge stretch to imagine these cunts becoming actively hostile to the UK in my opinion.

In a sense they already have.

Change of approach to Ukraine has made things more difficult for Europe and NATO as a whole.

Nevertheless, it won't come to active hostility I don't think, as they're already becoming disrespected across the world, and will need those allies and trading partners to help with their economy.

Isolationism will only worsen their situation, and that has started already to a small extent.

The people there won't stand for it should things get really bad.

Sorry I meant actively hostile in terms of rhetoric and policy (although you could probably argue they're that already). Not a shooting war.

Indeed- they started that with tariffs. 

I've no problem with Trump looking out for his country's best interests- he just needs to understand what the best ways are, and that doing it badly will have the opposite effect.

I agree mate. I just don't think he's particularly bright. And he's surrounded himself with people that won't argue with him. I'm sure he does think he's doing the right thing by his own country - but his strategy is littered with own goals and fuck ups - largely because I don't think he's got the cognitive ability to think through the consequences of his actions - or think in abstracts. 

I think he's in for a tough couple of years now. And I think it's likely that Iran will go full steam ahead to try to build a nuclear weapon (unless the US and Israel really have destroyed this capability), something I don't trust them to do. 

Meanwhile - I'm also not sure where this all leaves the people of Iran and this popular uprising. The future will tell I suppose. But it seems to me like although their military might be badly damaged, Iran are in a stronger strategic position than when the war started. To the extent that they could plausibly claim victory if they see off the US without any regime change.
