We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Aye it's a shame to start the offloading talk so soon after the jubilation of the weekend.

But in the cold light of day we need much better than GJ and Toal if we are to make a fist of it.

With our budget I'd say our team next season will be unrecognisable to the one we saw on Sunday.

They've apparently been planning for two different budgets all season.

Maybe but let’s not forget that we’re starting two weeks behind everyone else because of the play offs. Players we may bring in should be coming back from holiday soon whilst ours are only just going so I’m not surprised decisions seem to be being made quickly.

Nice words to conclude his time here and I’m sure with so much still to offer he’ll have no shortage of options. Well done fella and good luck for the future.

Sad to see both go but that's life

I'll remember both for what they did for us.I wish them well and thank you

As he eludes to, injuries have robbed him of his best.

Always a type of player you appreciate- he played with a broken back!

All the best.

Sad to see them both go, but a sign of success I guess.

Both will always get a great reception if they return with other clubs.

Always liked Dempsey, great attitude and a tidy player that takes a decent corner, isn't afraid to put a foot in and always looked captain material to me.

He'll do a good job for someone in league 1, just hope its not Wigan.

(Ian Evatt would take him in a heartbeat)

Let’s hope it’s a while before we get the chance!

Blackpool away in the league cup is nailed on

It's frustrating.

Toal, Forino amd Johnston are good defenders, but it just doesn't work for the full 90. And heads drop..

Could be inwood and temple are ready to step up.

More chance of me stepping up

Looks like the first name through the door is Killmarnock Scottish u21 player Dave Watson on a free. We had a six figure bid turned down in January. Highly rated and plenty of interest in him

Decent young player that lad, mainly an attacking midfielder but played a few positions

Inwood isn't getting the minutes needed next season in the champ so he's out on loan for me.

Temple bit more of an unknown but at least he's played in Europe with shelbourne. We know the standard of Jonny Kenny coming from that league so maybe he has a shot if he has a decent pre season.

I think he's been consistently good all season. But he's been outstanding in the biggest games

Fair enough.

Totally agree he's been outstanding in the bigger games, he seems to rise to the occasion.

I saw him have some poor games too IMO, refusing to cross the halfway line and/or look for a forward pass, and some sloppy passing in defensive situations.

Good player though.

Daily Record saying it is done...Just Googled him seems highly rated and was Scottish young player of the year a couple years back.....Good start if true

At Bradford you can see was trying to get the message over to be more composed, but we were playing too quickly under pressure. The subs did that, McAtee , to Gale to Simons. At Wembley subs played a role in all 3 goals after they came on. Squad depth proving significant, decent players coming on and doing a job Stockport did not have that.

Next season the natural progression is ‘starters’ become subs as better players come in. Hard to see that we will not add players so that the like of Burstow and McAtee are at best subs and more likely squad players. I know Burstow started Sunday but with Dalby fit and Kenny available he won’t be first choice.

Agree with that - but we have to bear in mind how often injuries occur.  Thinking of Dalby, Kenny, McAtee, Forss - we never seem to be able to pick our "first choice" whatever that is, because there's always 1 or 2 unfit.  Fair play to Burstow he seems to be robust and always available, but if he stayed he'd start a lot of games based on the injury record of the others, and of our strikers generally last few years.

We need an upgrade, because if they are in the squad they'll probably start a lot of games.

The other side is for the players , they need to start looking for their next club. Pretty sure they already will have, but sooner they get signed up sooner they get paid.

It actually becomes intriguing that other out of contract players like I think McAtee and Tutu have not said they are off.

Absolutely no chance.

Dempsey to Stockport is the rumour
