Someone will confirm on here, i thought premier league squads don't get confirmed until transfer window closes. If that is correct, the loans won't happen until then....officially anyway

The only reason I'm not currently worried is that there's still nearly a month of the window left open.

Although we'd obviously get destroyed over the course of the season in our current state, I do feel like we'd be strong enough to grind out home wins v Preston and Lincoln, and go to QPR to potentially battle for a point.

Then we can really assess where we are (and everyone else) when the window SLAMS shut. Theres no way our starting team v Preston is the same one against, say, Millwall early September.

I blame the lack of underage drinking in society today.

I do think this one is unique in the sense we got promoted via the play-offs so started later, need a bit of a squad overhaul given some of our best players were on loan and returned to their parent clubs/we have a few who aren't good enough and need getting rid of, the World Cup delayed things, we're now competing in different markets with clubs who have greater financial clout, have to be mindful of the SCR, etc.

There's not a great deal the club can do about it and I'm not claiming it justifies all the panic on social media but it's quite a bit different this year in my opinion

The situation may be different, but the general flow of the transfer market is no different. Bugger all ever happens until later in the window when the Prem teams have had the chance to look at the youth and make decisions on them during the pre-season tours.

It is fucking stupid that the transfer window shuts a few weeks into the season.

Teams could have half a new team in between first game and window closing. I suppose with WC it has knocked things back but the Ruros do similar so this happens every other year.

Okay, but there's more than one market to shop in and we haven't always been forced to make signings so late in the day

By this date last season we'd made nine signings, including three youngsters on loan from clubs in a higher league

TSL and ACD had been with us and training for over a month

Again, I'm not sure there's much the club can do about it this season and we're just going to have to get through it as best we can
