FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

McManaman back at Wigan for a 3rd spell, he didn't have a club at all last season after being released by Tranmere.  Another "its who you know" signing, with his ex teammate from when he was at his peak now his manager.

Weird career. Probably had less than 20 good games but one of them was in the FA Cup final. Like a higher end Clough.

Can't wait for the "overjoyed to finally get the deal over the line/playing for such a huge club/big ambitions/back where Bolton belongs" video interview.

Birmingham City are sniffing around Wilson apparently.

You only need to look at the size of the stadium and see the training facilities.  I know a couple of the lads and they only have positive things to say about the manager and the club.

Wasn't it something to do with image rights, sell ons & appearance money that was the sticking point ?

Not even taking him to training camp shows what bullsit that was.

I'd not trust Pearson to run a raffle.

I have a feeling there is more to this. No idea what but he clearly isn’t keen on him and I can’t see him holding the deal up in what will be small change to his budget.

Or Wilson may just be an ostrich.

The Wimbledon lad Chislet we was linked with as signed for Port Cale .

When St Mirren fans were asking why on earth Baccus would even consider signing for us I mentioned all the above plus family club, direction of travel, ambition, huge support etc etc to which they responded "increase the money or f*** off!"

I'm guessing only one thing matters to many - and it ain't the "nice to haves".

Very good.

Too good for mangetout United.

Good character, if a bit limited as a player, he shouldn't have been down in L2 playing for a no-mark club.  Presume its another "who you know" signing, he was here at same time as Flitcroft.

Mcginlay and branagan were who you know signings

Why would managers not sign players they have previously had?

Never understood why people think it's a bad thing this. It happens in all types of work. First thing I did when setting up a few years ago was take a couple of lads from where I worked previously. Know them, trust them and know what to expect. No different in football, surely.

Agreed

Maybe its just me (and you) but i get a feeling its seen as a negative

Nowt wrong with bringing players in that are known. So long as they can do the job, and it's not just a job for the boys type arrangement.

Evatt brought in keepers he knew.. :)

Weve signed a Tranmere player, why not a Wimbledon player? Same league! Maybe Port Vale offered more?😀

I think he was actually his brother-in-law or something

Worth remembering that when Parky went back to Bradford for players he came back with Darby and Proctor.  Morais rescued him.
