So you think it’s perfectly acceptable for our MANAGER not to have said one word about anything since that debacle at Wembley, the hopes and thoughts for the new season, the signing of two new players or even a confirmation that he’s staying and encouraging fans for the season to come? Evatt’s credibility’s already in question after Wembley and the silence does nothing to quell fans concerns. You may not have any but others do.

He was interviewed after the game. At that second, the end of season break began. I expect we'll get a couple of quotes about looking forward to the season once training resumes.

Really don't know how or why you expect an announcement that IE is staying when ultimately he is under contract and hasn't resigned or been sacked so the only uncertainty is in your head.

If Evatt was to come out last week, or the week before, or even this week, there is every chance it will stoke the fire rather than calm things down, unless he is word perfect. Given the disappointment, the club have played it well from a PR point of view.

They let things settle and let people go through their stages of grief, then put the person forward for an interview who was most likely to meet fans approval (Sharon), then crack on with the positive stuff of new kits, signings, etc.

I do think you will see a slightly different Evatt next season. I have no ITK on this, but i expect him to be slightly more circumspect, interviews / touchline behaviour to be a little less emotional, and a fixation on results over performance (a la Big Sam). Whether his instincts (which are clearly close to the surface) allow him to do this all season, time will tell. But the 'big' statements of previous years are likely a thing of the past.

In terms of players leaving, some on here seem convinced Santos, Sheehan, Baxter and Charles are all on their way. Unsure why or where this has come from. I do expect one, possibly two, of them to move on (but in one case it would most likely be towards the end of the window)... and i think a few others may also go. The squad will need some refreshing and impetus from hungry (young) players and I'd expect a good few more to come in.

In terms of Birmingham. I wouldn't worry too much! Their owners have proved they're a little out of touch so far, and spending masses of money in League One is sure fire way to pay over the odds and attract the wrong sort of player. They 'might' go up, but let's see who they bring in first.

odds have stayed the same on bet365 and WilliamHill, unsure on other websites

Sky Bet had us 8/1 in May, 9/1 early June and currently 10/1

Really? So wanting/expecting our manager who’s last words indicated he may be thinking of leaving and unsettling fans to actually come out and say something to the thousands of season ticket holders who’ve paid good money to watch Wanderers is weird is it? Over here in S Yorkshire the managers and players from all the local clubs are in the newspapers every night so expecting something from our lot is needy and self entitled is it you numb skull? Cut the stupid, crap comments and just accept it’s not on.

Our new keeper said he spoke with IE and IE told him of the plans for next season.

So why is he only telling the players? What is he hiding? I'm a season ticket holder and deserve to know/be consulted on these plans.

The least I expect from Ian and Sharon is for them to visit me personally at my house and lay out their vision for the future which I should have the power to veto. The cunts.

Charles was in Nandos in Preston today with a leg brace on. Not that that means fuck all.

It might mean that he likes pre-processed chicken and dry salty rice or that he's a cheapskate.

History tells you Birmingham don't hang about in the 3rd Division for very long. Dropped down to this level twice and took 3 seasons and 1 season to get out.Won the Freight Rover twice in the 4 seasons too

Took 3 seasons = not hanging about? We've narrowly failed in two of three and folk want everyone sacked.

Spotted in Primark & Nando's, there's the clues.

What a complete tit you are. Holiday? So Evatt and all the players have been on holiday since Wembley? Do you realise how stupid that response was? I’d just give up if that’s the best you can do.

im not buying it that SB is the greatest business woman the world has ever seen, but i think shes not bad at all and i trsut her

if she sacks evatt, i'll trust that too, but all she says suggests thats way off

i suspect shes told evatt to go away for as long as he wants and get a rest before the players come back

whatever anybody thinks of him, i dont think anybody would argue he doesnt live the job

it must be mentally draining and if hes worn out (cue, he wants to try my job etc etc) better to go and chill and get ready to go again

giving updates to internet oddballs should not be a priority

Be careful what you wish for.

They came to see me last week: Evatt kicked my dogs and Sharon told me L/H White is a sexist pig, before trampling all over my veggie patch.

At the least a personal written apology.

Some folk need to get over it and themselves and if said folk are struggling with that then perhaps bwfc isn't for you.

Spot on.

As for Sharon, she’s a high level networker and highly adept at it. She employs a CEO to run the business (and seems happy with his performance). Her primary role is to be the public face of the business and keep shareholders satisfied. I’d say her day to day business acumen is pretty low. Not a criticism; just a reflection of everyone playing to their strengths.

I have some reservations about her (particularly the handling of the Kyle Dempsey situation whilst virtue signalling about mental health at the same time), but maybe there’s context I / we didn’t know.

Firstly, "numbskull" is one word.

Secondly, I don't give a fuck what they do in South Yorkshire.

Thirdly, you've been bitching and moaning about wanting to hear from the owners and/or the manager ever since the play-off final defeat.  As if you are personally owed an apology.  The owner has already come out with a statement, but that's not good enough for you.  Whether Evatt stays or go is up to him and/or the owners.  We, as fans, aren't entitled to hear anything.  Why can't you just take it as read that Evatt is staying and he intends to get us promoted next season?  Why do you need to hear him say it?

You seem to be a very needy and controlling type, who besides you gives a flying fuck what the clubs employees and management do during holiday season, they almost live like fucking monks between August and April, so fuck off with your entitlement bullshit.

Let me help you out.

A day or two after Wembley, they did end of season tests / reviews. They have no responsibility to be back at ‘work’ until a specified day (next week I think). Most will go on holiday.

They WILL have to report back in a pre agreed fitness condition, so most are working with fitness trainers (alongside pro’s from other clubs) to get into shape.

As for Evatt, he’ll be working behind the scenes alongside Markham and his wider coaching team

So they may or may not be on ‘holiday’ but they’re certainly not at the club in any fixed sense. And they have no obligation to provide you with a statement even if they are.

One thing I’ll tell you to manage your expectations; when Evatt does speak, there’ll not be much reference to last season at all. You might want to take a few minutes now to get your head around that, or you’ll be in for a long few weeks.

What on earth makes you think that?

She's a successful businesswoman in other areas away from football. Don't get that with no relevant acumen.

She certainly isn't "virtue signalling" over mental health neither- that's a baseless comment- her previous interview detailing her personal experiences more than adequately explain her attitude.

I don't know what story you're referring to re Dempsey neither.

Perhaps a misunderstanding. I’m not suggesting for a moment she isn’t a successful business woman. I’m differentiating between the operational running of a business and the role she does. As I clearly said, it wasn’t a criticism of her, but an observation. Maybe I’m wrong, but her business dealings have been built more on the investment side than the start up / operational side (feel free to correct me)

Don’t misinterpret what I’m saying.

As for mental health, Kyle Dempsey was convicted of a (very serious) crime. The victim in that crime would no doing have suffered serious mental health consequences. If she is committed to it as she says, he should have been dismissed (regardless of his asset value). On the basis that he wasn’t, I’d say there’s some virtue signalling going on

Nothing is black and white. My post isn’t implying that I have an issue with her. She’s been great for the club. But none of us are perfect.

Anyway, apologies for taking the transfer thread off on a tangent.
