Dom Bollard Southampton striker linked with a loan move. On loan at Reading last year only played 10 games scoring 3.

if a striker is rumoured to be off it would make sense us loaning someone in to plug the gap

Baxter isn’t the only one who hasn’t extended or renewed his contract and we don’t know if that’s at the clubs or players discretion so best not to conclude anything. I suspect much depends on where we are in January but certainly if an acceptable offer came in before then I’d expect any of our players to be off. Hopefully that doesn’t happen because our squad right now could arguably be the strongest in L1, all of whom we’ll need to clinch an automatic spot.

what if its not acceptable?

proper stating the obvious there

anyway, baxter

he didn't sign for us to play in division 3

the 2 years will be all he would commit to

if we go up, i see no reason he would leave, similarly, i see no reason he would sign an extension at this time

Wouldn't be against that Ballard lad if presumably Dan was off, the lad was a goal machine at PL2 level & started off well for Reading before he got his season ended. That being said, makes sense for them to loan him back to Reading where he'd be the main man starting week in/week out rather than just an option who isn't guaranteed any starts for us. Worth an ask though

Dan's tied down to a 3 year deal, we've no chance of anyone paying for him

Be mad if he goes to Plymouth.

i think most players would choose the championship over league 1 tbf

maybe something in it with us bringing a 3rd keeper in, with him never naming a keeper on the bench anyway

I would expect most players to look a little more deeply than one league is higher than another.

If Burnley, Leeds etc came calling then maybe.

It must be close to Rooney's failings meaning players would think twice about signing for him.

If Baxter's not on good terms that should be looked at.

Money- how much more can they offer.

League- as I said above, if a bigger club then yes, but it might not be for long, especially with shrek in charge.

Location- lost me.

Whatever more they offer it’s what you work for at the end of the day. At the moment they are a bigger club, full houses at home and a league higher and as for location? Are you serious? Rainey, scruffy Bolton or the English Riviera, now let me see? If it all goes pear shaped under Rooney Nathan moves on like they all do but the advantages right now are reason enough to move. Baxter has no loyalty to Wanderers we’re just a stepping stone for him so if Plymouth or any team higher up come for him I’d expect him to jump at the chance.

You’re not arsed if we lose our better players? Let’s hope the club don’t have the same mentality

Of course we’re arsed, how silly, but we need to face facts. Nobody wants Baxter to go but if he gets a better offer and we accept it he goes. What we would be arsed about is him sulking because we prevented him from going and getting nothing in the summer anyway.

I agree, Plymouth is a dump and I watched them play Sheffield Wednesday, they were shocking, nailed on for the drop if they play like that.

he got a better offer before he joined us. I don’t get this loser mentality.

I take it you've never been to Plymouth
