Others will know better but I read on the BN live feed for the game yesterday that you're allowed 22 outfield players over the age of 21 in a squad. We currently have 24. As such there's going to be a couple of departures before the deadline. We'd be allowed to replace them but only with young players - I'm guessing loanees from Prem or Championship clubs.

Big question is therefore: Who of the 24 will be allowed to leave (loan or permanent)? I'd say Morley and Victor are in the frame but others who may come under the microscope are Gethin, Iredale, big Dan and perhaps even Dempsey. You could argue for Sheehan too. Controversial .. but a debate that's going to be happening in and out of the club in coming days.

Did we pay for Baxter, if not surely just make him see his contract out, more valuable to us than a fee!

It was 25 in a squad just read they've changed the rules for this season.

Think only Matheson in the squad counts as under 21.

Would expect him and Khumbeni to go out on loan but there's still 24 left in the squad.

If CMG is going to be out til after Christmas we won't need to register him.

So I think at least one of Morley, Dan and Forrester will be off

It's 22, not including anyone under 21 at season start and not including goalkeepers.

So that's 3 out straightaway.

We have only 2 of the larger squad who are 21 (Matheson & Khumbeni), both like to be loaned out again ... but none under 21.

Mendes*, who'll be injured beyond Christmas, will probably not yet  get registered into the squad.

I count 23 (*22) plus keepers, but as ever the Devil will be in the detail.

I'm still assuming a couple may exit.

I would let Baxter walk on a free next season if he won’t sign we signed him on a free anyway not worth selling and risking a promotion push

I'd be a bit disappointed if he went to Plymouth.

I'd hate to see him leave but the realities of where we are, suggest to me that a big offer for a player in the last year of his contract, he'd be off.
