I agree we’re not professionals but don’t you think playing and watching football for 40, 50, 60 years gives you some idea what you’re on about? Pretty mental if not. 🥴

Yes.

Funny though, that even with that, folk still won't agree on everything!

Sorry yes Stoke, don't know why I said Villa.

And yes, he's only going to go to L1 if he's playing every week like Barry was.  Like you, I just can't see him being a main man for us with the competition for that type of player.

I just think he might be a bit young for all the expectation and atmosphere around our place over the next few months, unless he was maybe coming on and making an impact as a sub, which may not be what his club wants for him.

Not sure that we'll make much of a dip into loan market anyway, Evatt's indicated a move away from reliance on it. Last few have been a bit of a mixed bag anyway, successful ones in the minority.

Bloody hell

He's good but that's big money.

Interesting this morning that Evatt said Dion isn't going anywhere... followed in the next line saying every player has a value. I still think one of he or Vic will go. There's a certain amount of shenanigans from managers and agents at this time, so the £3mill could be his agent or Luton Town trying to get the price up.

It’s debatable 🤣

And I’m not just on about you, I include myself and everyone else in that!

As @thebells said we are too emotionally invested (well I am anyway) to be balanced and impartial.

We’d all like to think we know what we are talking about and would make a good manager. I can harp on about my achievements and successes as a youth coach, but it’s all bollocks and irrelevant to what BWFC are doing.

I’m still waiting for the 30 odd year old professionals I taught 20 years ago, to tell me how good my management and football coaching skills were, but not one has done 😂. However I’ve had a few tell me how much they enjoyed their sport and how they’ve been inspired to become teachers too, so that’ll do for me. Isn’t that right @London Wanderer 😊 (I’m stretching this as he hardly remembers me, so not the best example)

If you taught @London Wanderer then there’s a good chance you taught me too.

Let hope its Vic.

A customer just said he watched our highlights v Exeter and we absolutely battered them. And he fancies us to make a push for promotion.

Amazing what an non invested view looks like :D

Hope Mr Evatt was pleased with your customer service 😉

Tbf we have battered quite a few teams in last 12 months but have not always won those games. We were losing after 88 minutes of battering Exeter.

Which games are you thinking of?  Shrewsbury 2nd half yes, Mansfield away we should have drawn.  I can think of a couple of games we've won when we weren't necessarily the best team, not many the other way round.

He was never coming back as long as we were in League One (more Brentford's decision than his).

Leeds want him on loan for rest of this season. Brentford will let him go if their injury issues subside.

He's well beyond us. But I agree, we was an outstanding player post Xmas once he'd found his feet.

Even before Christmas he scored at least 3 league goals, in not many games, and was our best player at Pompey.  I don't think it took him as long to get going as some make out, once he was getting some game time (not sure if he had fitness issues before that, so I'm not criticising his lack of games in 1st few months)

Is it now? Didn’t York pay £350k for a lad the other day.

So basically because we aren’t footballers or managers we should just stay quiet.

May as well shut this down as there is only @Gumbo who’s qualified to comment.

I would love us to play how pep plays and win the champions league. Reality is we don’t have the players and players recruited don’t seem to change this. Maybe the coach should look at getting the most out of his squad and not some weird formation that doesn’t work.

Shut up and go and talk about Park Run

That also applies to permanent transfers.  2nd half of last season would have looked a lot worse without Maghoma, and I liked Ashworth too and Caleb Taylor no worse than Forinho to date.  Matete our best signing this season for me.

If we're going to get poor players in, better we don't spend a fortune on them and/or give them a long term contract!

Bottom line is recruitment has to be better - other clubs will benefit from good loans from a higher division, we should too.

for contrast I’ve brought neutrals to many games and they all say “why do you keep pissing around with it and moving the balls so slowly”

But they are talking about your hand job technique and not the game

If you listen to IE it is every game,  😂😂 but two obvious ones from last year were Wigan away  and Derby away.  Both games were we had most of the ball but did not create that much missed the few chances we did create and lost 1-0.

Can't imagine the scenario where someone pays for Vic. That's a huge task.

Agreed, last season we should have got something at Derby and Wigan, the better team in both.

We didn't deserve any other extra points 2nd half of last season IMO and probably deserved all our wins.

The draws all seemed fair results from memory, no ridiculous mistakes or last minute goals conceded unless I've forgotten any.

This season, we've lost and been 2nd best to Charlton, Exeter, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Stockport, Wigan and Barnsley.  Unlucky to lose at Mansfield.

Overall I'd say our results reflect our performances, and if anything the 3 welcome/enjoyable late winners have put a gloss on our points tally.

There's a bit of a line for me between games where we've been the better side and maybe had a goal ruled out, keeper's made some blinding saves, hit woodwork a couple of times and those where we've had 60+% possession and barely had an effort on target. We've had a fair few of the latter over the last year or so.
