We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Someone in here (can’t remember who, apologies) said Collins does enough to make you think he’s important when he’s not and in fact he’s probably hindering the team. Or to that extent. Thought it was spot on.

When we signed him he didn’t really strike as a player we needed. We needed someone to score goals but not from the position he is.

Very true. We got value out of him towards the end of last season as I recall nlundulu was out, JDB always partially injured and Vic also injured (I think).

I just down know where he actually fits. And frustratingly Evatt seems to have doubled down on players of his ilk. He has the talent to be a championship player. Not sure he has the desire though.

I thought he stayed at the hotel a lot?

It's fucking ridiculous that he's been here nearly 5 years and still commutes from Chesterfield.

think it's the opposite to be honest, and they're more like best pals (like he was with Sarcevic until he had a strop)

I think, just like it was with Sarcevic, the relationship WAS close, but from what I’m hearing, it’s not anymore.

Here are your facts...

When goals against Barrow and Fleetwood reserves get us where we need to be, I'll start caring about those too.

League goals are what matter most.

Charles has 7 in 1290 minutes, so a goal every 184 mins, so almost a 1 in 2 record, which is more than enough at this level.
Collins has 6 in 1568 minutes, so a goal every 261 mins, approaching 1 in 3 territory.

Charles has taken 3 penalties don't forget!

If Morley had been playing all season for us he'd probably be top scorer just from pens, free kicks and the odd one from open play that he's capable of, but we wouldn't be playing him up front.  Surely strikers are there for what they bring to the table in open play.  We need better than the current version of Charles both in goal scoring and general play, IMO.

He's not allowed to anymore.

It certainly isn't :(

👀 why?

If Charles ends up at Wrexham, it just about sums up our tin pot season so far.

He'll score a bagful there getting on the end of second balls

Think Big E needs to check his facts. Population Bolton 302,000 Wrexham 44,000. Average crowds Bolton 17000+ Wrexham 12000.  They don't have a large fan base or large income but are propped up by the two guys from Hollywood. That doesn't make them a big club. To sell our top striker to a promotion rival not great business. Derby County ok as long as a good replacement is in line. Like I said a tin pot move if he goes to Wrexham.

So a quarter of the population go to Wrexham then.

they are Hollywood owned and that is generating massive income. I believe they sell more shirts in the USA than we do total.

keep pretending we are massive. Bet you see United as rivals 😂😂

Don't think we are massive anymore really. I have no ego on that label. Would just be a stupid move to transfer a key player to a rival, similar to allowing Morley going back to Wycombe as we could still make 6th spot if the stars aligned and possibly meet either of them in the playoffs

It would be mental to sell to a rival. It is equally mental to keep a manager who seems unable to change things and stop the rut. Likewise a manager who doesn’t play to their best striking assets strengths.

if the money is right he will go. We have to plug the gap in our budget with our mad spending so far.

Charles is probably the only player I would be disappointed to leave out of the squad 20 goals a season striker even with the misses still our best  player

Hopefully if he goes we'll  be able to replace him with another sockdown mincer.

Obviously I have no idea, but you know that.

I would say so yes. Objectives were to get promoted. We appear to have spent a lot of money to do so and are currently adrift of the play offs. That expenditure will need to be covered I assume

No but we must have a large gap between the ears giving Evatt a million to spend on a player who will be lost in the Bermuda Triangle that is our playing set up

Said it after the play off final, from back then still to now I couldn’t care less who exits out of the entire squad & management. They’ve all had plenty of time to get us up yet have constantly come up short when it came to the big moments not to mention all the endless no shows & capitulations in the local matches. Nothing against Dion, he’s got us plenty of goals & has continuously ran himself into the ground for us over the years but that being said we’re still lingering mid table in L1.

Be a brave manager who sold Dion at this moment in time! 😁
