If this gasman rocks up , can he be the new scapegoat and can we boo him after 15 minutes?

Or will he explode onto the scene

Every player in the squad has been slagged off in the close season by one or more "supporters", so might as well start on him before he signs.

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

All the more baffling Evatt bought him to play in a two in a team that rarely crossed.

…..and that’s the point. Vic’s role was to run around a lot in Evatt’s team - not cause mayhem in the box when two out and out wide men are there to provide service.

Somebody on Twitter who's other half is a Cambridge regular has seen a lot of him and reckons he's not as duff as being suggested, if he's allowed to operate in the box and the wingers feed it to him well and often enough

Optimistic about Kenny;

We seem to have the cash from recent outgoings. He would be that "statement signing", looks like championship standard striker. Hope we can seal the deal?

Common sense comment at last. He clearly didn’t fit the Charlton system but that doesn’t make him a bad player. Assuming he does sign let’s at least give the lad a chance before making judgement. I don’t for a minute thing Schu and Fergal don’t think he can do a job so let’s just wait and see what happens shall we?.

Don't know a lot about this Ahadme but he scored a lot of headers at cambridge. If he can hold the ball up and play up top by himself I'm happy with a loan. Even if he's third choice.

Well yes. That would mean one could get injured & we still have a spare.

Sorted.

Heard he was injured

If Adahme is top of our list for that third striker and we do indeed sign him it does raise the question as to the length of contract we offer. Tough to be offering 3 or 4 years to a lad we view as a replacement and probably for re-sale should we end up in the Championship.

We've seen so often that certain players only thrive in certain systems. You only have to look at SKD when he came to us. This was the frustrating thing about Evatt - signing players and then not using them in the way that suits them.

We are a club looking for mobile targetmen. This is all in a market where such footballers are no longer as commonplace as they once were. SKD, Mixu and Nathan Blake would be perfect for this squad. As regards footballers of this level - Tony Philliskirk would be good too.

Philliskirk with no reeves ?    Scandalous

This......Adahme is only one year into a four year contract and will be on decent Money after moving for 1m

Do not see him coming in as third choice

Got a awful feeling if we bring in Adahme we wont be bringing Kenny in

Adahme going to be Schueys version of N'lundulu ?

No matter how bad he is nothing will compare to that. Evatt had actually seen him play for 6 months and still spent good money on him

I'm the same.

If we signed em both it would leave us with Dalby, Warren, Adahme, Kenny then Vic, Big Dave and Lawrence all vying for one position.

Big Dave and Lawrence may as well not be included in the conversation. I know they’ve had minutes recently but they’re not a genuine option for playing in competitive matches.

Vic is long term injured, and shit. Nothing to say he’ll be considered again when fit, likely loaned out / moved on.

We’ve just plucked Warren from non-league. He might be a genuine option for the 9 role but surely that’s upside this season, would you want him as one of your 3 options?

Dalby +2 more for me. Can’t see us going with anything less.

You might be right there but I suppose do we wait till the end of the window and hope we get Kenny and possibly still miss out or give Celtic a take it or leave it offer this week and move on to the Charlton guy ?

Don’t need two others; just a good striker to back up Dalby; if we are bringing in the Charlton lad hopefully it’s just a loan

Surely we don't see him as an alternative to Kenny?

We've already agreed a fee

3 of them won’t need registering and be playing for B team as well . Vic won’t be ready till Xmas and will be missing a pre season so probably jan at best for him

Who knows but can only see us paying a hefty fee for one striker Kenny would be a loan at best and there would be a fee there also
