FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

A wumming session?

He isn't my "favourite" by any means, but the manager has seen fit to award him with an extension, so that should be good enough.

It also gives us some potential financial reward if anyone else comes sniffing.

Just not a big fan and wouldn't imagine he'd be capable of making the step up if we get promoted.

Think he'd be fine as there are fewer clubs likely to employ a low block all game long

That would be a nice problem to have.  And this time last year I bet most of us, including me, didn't think Tomo would be playing week in week out in the top half of the championship.

And anyway we'd have the option to sell him if we thought we could sign better (plenty thought we'd done that this season but so far its proved not to be the case).

Like LH says I'm completely the opposite. I think he's wasted at this level.

Getting clattered by cloggers all game and playing with players below his ability.

He'd flourish with better players against more attacking teams.

Get you don't like him mate, we all have players like that.

Imagine being an international footballer only good enough for league 1.

Charles, Toal, Kenny, Magennis, Jamie Reid, Peacock Farrell, Southwood 😀

Maybe Irish don't count.

He's already shown in international football that he works well with better players and can be effective when the opponents aren't all hell bent on ale house clogging

not watched a single Wales game but from those that do he seems to do well on the international stage

He's easily the most capable player we have to make the step up.

Whether he's capable of making the step after that would be a different discussion.

I'm not sure he could neither- at his age he would have already gone if he was.

Nevertheless, he has been welcomed by SS, and that's OK.

I'm not convinced that many of the Wales team are "better" players.

Certainly not dramatically so.

I hope we get to find out

I think Wales are another level compared to NI. Most of those you've named are pretty shit.

It's Wales

There are plenty of players who've gone through the leagues at later ages. Leon Britton springs to mind as a smaller player who ended up having a decent Premier League career in his 30s.

Not saying Sheehan will go that far, but that can wait for a) us getting promoted and b) us having better options. For me he's comfortably shown that he's still our most influential player this season (outside of the six weeks where ACD looked like a world beater).

I also think it's good for the club to have players who stick around long term, when most of our players are loans and short term deals.

A year or two back I'd have fully agreed, it was largely Bale, Ramsey and Champ / L1 folk, bit stronger now, in terms of Prem level performers like Wilson, Ampadu, Johnson, Rodon, Brooks

Where does this leave Dempsey, Tutu, Johnston and Christie all out of contract in June?

All currently in the first team squad. Will we see one or two season ending injuries which we seemed to have got last season

I think those four are stronger mentally than some of the players we had back then

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Not sure Christie will get one- possibly a year- but I suspect SS will look for a new right back.

Others, who knows.

I am glad we have secured our corner taker down for another two years!

That's Dempsey today
