We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

I think it'll be Conway next

You just know that we are only one  conceded goal or one miss at goal from the in-game posters targeting a player for being shit, running in treacle, being a waste of money, Fergal doesn’t know what he’s doing and SS has picked the wrong side.

Spoke to a few more Celtic fans & they don’t seem to rate Kenny. But aren’t ruling out his potential given a bit of time.

Hardie might guarantee us more goals, but not if he’s not back to full fitness until the start of April.

There will be goals coming from the wingers as well, so we’re definitely looking more dangerous. Hopefully the composure comes & we can start seeing more games out. Don’t care how we beat Barnsley, just get it done. Then Lincoln is a cup final.

I hope our refusal to let McAtee leave despite interest is a boost to his confidence

McAtee  has been playing better, his finishing still pretty poor e.g his back pass to Wimbledon’s keeper on Saturday.  But his pass to B-T for the goal was ace. He’ll benefit from a run in the team.

He’ll know he’s just one poor game away from losing his starting spot to one of the new signings.

One of the better / more interesting intro interviews.

Funny that last week the idea was that we'd dodged a bullet by missing out on Kenny in the summer, and Ryan Hardie was the prolific striker we need.

Now Kenny is the man and Hardie is a crock.

Never seen either of them play to any great degree, and there is bound to be risks signing any forward in January. If they were a sure thing they'd be playing for their parent clubs.

We needed a striker, we've got one of the strikers we've had a long term interest in. Can't ask for much more than that. Let's see how it all plays out.

If we all predicted now what the games, goals and general fan sentiment would be towards our new signings by the end of the season, none of us would be correct.

Spot on.  And it changes from week to week anyway.  Just taking one example, if you'd asked me about Gale 2 months ago, he'd be an 8 out of 10.  Cissoko a 3.  Now they aren't too far apart at around 5.5 or 6.  I would have been giving Gale a long contract and sending the stepover king back immediately, now I'm more "if they stay they stay, if they go they go" but I'll probably change my mind in a month or 2.  I'm sure others will have plenty examples of opinions changing regularly.

Physical prowess, anticipation, movement, positioning, technical skills etc are all on display though.

Dempsey is a good example. He has a great leap and competes in the air with much taller players, he can finish, pass and he times tackles better than most - but a lot of folk don’t judge him on those criteria and get on his back, even when he receives a shit pass. We’ve recruited players with good attributes and it’s up to SS to create a team from them.

I think one thing we haven't had this season is pace through the middle - to use your example these are attributes that we can see from Burstow and Dalby after 1 game, its not based on opinion.  Hardie for eg would have improved this in the way that Charles did.  I'm guessing Kenny isn't blessed with pace but do you think he's faster than the other 2?

So these Dilberts that are moaning about loans and freeman's.

Say we went nuclear and jizzed £2m on Nombe, another load on Hardie and another couple all on 2-3 year deals, then we don't get promotion.

We are then stuck in League 1 with players on big dosh, on contracts and we already lose millions a season as it is.

Itd put the club in massive jeopardy and a gamble just not worth taking.

It's about beg stealing and borrowing to get out of this league unless you've got untold fortunes like Brum and Wrexham.

People just love telling folk how to spend their own money.

and if we do get promoted, there's a decent chance they won't be good enough in the championship

keep the powder dry, hope for promotion and spend next season if we go up

we've handed out enough 3/4 year deals this season

Did we end up getting some fullback cover?

The same people moaning about us not spending money or having to sell before we buy are the same people that spent 2 years saying “well at least we still have a club” and were made up when Sharron came in and said the club had to be run in a sustainable way.

it’s almost like you have to be spending money these days to show your competitive without realising there’s teams around us who haven’t had to do that themselves. Good recruitment doesn’t need to be about throwing fun coupons about like youre the wolf of Wall Street

Can we have a ban on screenshots of this shit making its way into wanderersways.

1 - it’s senseless shite

2 - you all mock him but then spread his ramblings even further afield

3 - it’s ruining my social media purge

Stop giving him the attention he wants.

Well said, most of us avoid reading that nonsense and it just gets repeated on here, why any normal folk would want to take any notice is beyond me.

My mate is a bit like that. I think he sees it as a lack of ambition. So I usually remind him of some of our recent signings that we signed permanently/paid money for.

He usually calms down then! 😂

That was the case at the start of the season, he was assumed to be worse than the new signings (and Randall etc).  That wasn't the case but in fairness Burstow was scoring goals and was undroppable till October, also McAtee had injuries and couldn't get a foothold in the squad never mind team.

I would say SS wouldn't be so hasty ruling him out after a bad game, he should now be considered on merit like the rest of them rather than on not being a shiny new signing.  So when he inevitably gets dropped, its not the end, because the player coming in eg Rodriguez will also have poor games and/or get injured.  We've got a big squad and we should use it fully (and I know the argument for a settled team too).

I thought Kenny was supposed to be pretty quick and a similar player in style to Charles?

I stay off football and politics stuff on Twitter and Facebook. It's just fully of idiots who think they know it all and that people care about their opinions. "Empty vessels make the most sound"

They must have loved it when Evatt was pissing money away on Randall, McAtee, Schon, Lolos etc.

Talking of which, Iles yesterday made comparison with last Jan - Randall, Etete and Murphy. Fuck me that's a shite transfer window.

Great interview, really excited to see what this lad can do I really think he can be that missing link we’ve not had since Paris left. Adds the experience we need too with his promotions and Championship background and to get him permanently and for free is for me our best signing in ages.

I think if they’d offered a decent fee rather than loans we probably would have done business but for them to think we’re going to loan him to a major competitor seems just barmy.

Really happy with the business the club as done in this transfer window and look forward to watching these new players as for the twitter mob I am so glad I do not have a twitter account what a bunch of idiots.

Great Business this window and a hint at what we can expect to come into the club in the summer.

I'd rather take SS opinion on Kenny than a couple of Jocks.
