Twitter rumours suggesting we’re in for Kyle walker. Wants a local club and available on a free. Not got the legs he once had but an upgrade on what we have.

Well it's Ben Davies, former Preston, Liverpool, Rangers left sided centre half. I'm lead to believe that's done, good experienced defender for the level, struggled with injuries last year on loan at Oxford but a clear upgrade over Johnston for me.

There's a left back as well, similar level of experience at the level but don't think that's as close.

Not sure how you figure that, Johnston is 27 and never played above League 1 level. This lad spent several years at the heart of a mid-table Preston defence before earning a move to Liverpool and has since, earned playoffs with Sheffield United, been sold for £3m, played Champions League football and then won League 1 with Birmingham.

Safe to say it's a fairly significant upgrade in quality and experience.

He’s injury prone and always had a better partner next to him bailing him out. Bit like santos covering Jonno for years..

44 appearances season before last in that Birmingham team that went up. Solid enough signing if true.
