FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

I get the sense Fergal is top dog in a way Markham wasn't

Chances are, the whole thing is utter bullshit 🤣

Spurs signing Tonali for £100M

seems strange that the wealthiest club in the world keep having to sell their best players - Tonali, Gordon, Isak, Anderson etc

read it's because by staying at St James they just don't generate the same revenue the likes of Spurs do with all their gigs and NFL games

so if they really want to compete they need to get a ground that generates big money

can see the toon being up for that

This explains their reasoning behind what they are doing -

Different pathways - Markham was more of a stats/data analyst guy, Fergal has spent years cultivating contacts in the UK and abroad.

Read that Spurs can spend something like £400m and still not be worried about PSR

But still be worried about relegation.

Imagine giving that much money to a manager who rarely spends more than two years at a club

Never heard of him, so just had a look.

Good age, seems to have found his feet in the league last season.

A bit of a gamble perhaps, but Sheffield utd as well as others abroad supposedly interested so maybe he is well regarded.

Aye just had a skim over his stats. Looks pretty rock solid.

Did you read his full first name?

Bloody good job they put surnames on shirts.

There would appear to be a release clause in his contract with figures of £900k to £1.5m quoted, neither of which are high for a promising 22 year old so if it’s genuine he’d be a good signing and even better if we could get his mate Tolaj too.

I started to read his first name but it was like a post from sluffy so I just put him on ignore as well.

yep, it aligns with what i was saying

Only those with vast commercial revenues, such as Manchester United and Tottenham, would have no problem dipping in and out, because they can operate to 70% regardless.

if Newcastle stay at St James, they are going to struggle to increase their commercial and match day revenues to allow them to both compete and stay on the right side of the financial rules, regardless of how rich their owners are

looking at it simply - stay at St James and they might flirt with a European spot most seasons, OR, get a new ground and maximise their revenue streams, they woud be in a better place to aim higher and not have to keep selling their best players

I thought we had bought him, rather than him being on loan ?

Edit : 18 month deal when he signed.

We did.

Essentially got him for free and they got rid of a wage. His contract is until next summer.

In slightly related news there's talk of a keeper coming on loan from a Prem club, I've not heard that from where I usually do so pure guess work but Pierce Charles is being bought by City from Sheffield Wednesday so could be an immediate loan back out for the lad?

Good use of French to tie in with the possible signing.

You'll do well to keep that up.
