FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

He's never played more than 29 league matches in a season

There might be injury prone players we think we can manage but he's practically guaranteed a lengthy spell out

I also liked him as a player, but I think we should reluctantly move on

The problem with CBT is not just the last injury but he has struggled for a couple of years. Will want decent money and not sure we can afford a high % of budget on a player who only plays say 25 times a season

Makes you wonder why he's in a position to demand decent money

One compromise to that is, if he's not in Derby's plans, get him on loan late August till Christmas, its 4 months. Wouldn't cost us a transfer fee and assuming he's fit at that stage the risk isn't that much more than any player we sign and gets injured not that long after - Dalby, Forss, ACD, Kenny etc. And if he's proving his fitness it improves his chances of making it permanent or at least till end of season. All that's assuming he's not got better offers.

I suppose so, but if he does well there'll be a clamour to sign him, and if we do sign him permanently, we'll still have signed a player with a history of getting injured every season

I really REALLY like CBT (not cock and ball torture before anyone makes that joke) 😁

But he came to us with a reputation for being injury prone and managed 7 games - a couple of which were off the bench.

I think if he was fit - he could well have been the most talented player at the club. Some of the things he did in that brief spell were prem quality - let alone champ, but I think he's knackered.

I won't be sad if we resigned him necessarily - but I think we need to be looking elsewhere unfortunately. We don't have the money to be carrying passengers.

Not really he is already under contract at a Championship club so unless he gets offered decent £££ he is unlikely to walk away. Unless he just loves the Horwich life. .

Id never heard of that abbreviation or kind of behaviour until I read that. Is it something local to Kent?

Or as it not made it to Atherton yet

Used to know a United fan from Atherton who was known as cock and ball a long time back ha.

Rob Kelly's been brought in as assistant coach

He seems to have quite an extensive CV

Is there a club he hasn't managed or coached?! And plenty more than once.

He worked with SS at Bury.

Not a new signing but according to the BN this morning Richard Taylor’s back in the fold for pre season. The lad has a lot to prove but his commitment to return from the break in such good shape seems to have impressed Schuey. There’s clearly a player in there and if he can deliver what we all expected of him last year it will be almost like having a new signing. Good luck Richard.

I was prepared last season to give Randall the benefit of having a full pre season with us hoping he’d turn out better but he never did. Taylor deserves a chance to show what he can do with a full pre season behind him. I’d like to see him at LCB rather than LB though. When he has played at LCB I’ve been impressed but no so much at LB

I can’t share this optimism, I’m afraid. The highlight of his career in England seems to be 16 appearances across two seasons with Southend, which resulted in two relegations and left Southend playing non-league football.

He then disappeared into non-league and Irish football, before resurfacing in Scotland with St Mirren, where he appeared in less than half of all matches, over two seasons. In contrast, Declan John was a regular starter during this period.

There is nothing in his career history that suggests he is what we need in the Championship.

SS saying the right things about Taylor...Putting it out he has knocked over one min from a 2km run. He is dangling a bait out to other clubs.

Already brought in two lcb and has Inwood if needed

Got promoted last season without him.......Getting Evatt vibes jobs for the boys. Got 4 keepers on our books none are Championship standard

Get three loaned out and you could have put those wages and the new coaches wages for a Championship quality keeper

Had enough of hearing we have a limited budget then needless appointments its been happening since covid

Is it not normal to have an assistant coach then ??

Debatable point really. We used to have assistant managers but don’t we already have coaches? We seem to have so many non playing senior roles who will all be on decent money but it’s players that do the business and we apparently can’t afford them. We’re getting like the NHS!

You’re off again 😂

How do you know it’s needless?

If SS wants it and Fergal and Sharon have sanctioned it, they won’t have done this on a whim, or to the detriment of the club, or at the expense of the players budget.

Do you know what Tutte and the other B team staff who have now gone were on? Do you know if his wage is more than they can afford or more than what their budget is for coaching staff?

Do you heck, you’re just off on one of your you think you know more those in charge rants again.

Couple of points here.

First, we don’t have “managers”. Schumacher is head coach. If a manager can have an assistant manager, can’t a head coach have an assistant coach? Remember, managers and assistant managers also have coaches.

Second, the NHS analogy is so wide of the mark. 2% of NHS staff are managers, compared with 11% across UK industry. In addition, 2% of NHS expenditure is administrative, compared with 5% and 6% in the German and French health systems.

Richie Kyle is Assistant Head Coach. Then there's Mark Hughes as Assistant Coach, with Rob Kelly joining him. Presume he's been brought in for his Championship experience.

Doing the lord's work here. Thank you! 🙏

The alternative point of view is that he's a very experienced coach, particularly in this league and if he's as good as we think he is, then his salary, which is probably quite a bit less than a lot of our players' salaries, could provide an enormous ROI

My mate reckons he's seen some lads painting at the ground.

Imagine spending money on ground remdieial works when we need to sign players. Tins of paint aren't cheap and that £23.59 for some Dulex Gloss could've gone towards a 20 goal a season striker.

It's a fucking disgrace.

Doesn't count to SCR though so its fine 😎
