FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Id be delighted if we signed Kenny and ACD . Id also have Burstow back . There are other players out there but Ive not a clue about them so cant comment.

That would get us back to where we were, where is the improvement? because it wasn't just defence and left wing that were an issue last season.

Well then that would be up to the other signings . I dont think we can sign better than Kenny & ACD . We are not gonna get top end championship type players.

is Dong an improvement?

I've never heard of him

hope so

I reckon I've seen enough of ACD and Kenny to know they'd be able to perform well in the Championship

if not, who can we bring in cheaply or on loan who are better than them?

He's the replacement for Cissoko/CBT/CMG/Apter I guess

Keeping or getting back our best players and changing the others is not getting us back where we were.

Looks like we've got competition from Millwall for Kenny.

be disappointed if he decided to go there over us

This bloke looks like a physical/target-man type. Not prolific but at the same time not a poor goalscoring record. Decent age.

It's interesting how so many of our signings/links have some connection to the SPL (Watson, Davis, Stephenson). It's clearly an area Fergal built up a real depth of knowledge around in previous roles.

One of his many strengths he brings is the contacts he has built up at City and latterly Liege.

Yep and it is showing through.

This ere European scout we've got will add to that corporate knowledge base over time hopefully

I think only money decides that. Just an opinion but I think he enjoyed his time here.

I really like him And would love him to sign up

And Dalby, Taylor and Kenny too if we're counting last season. That's 7 in a year, and they are just the one's we know about.

Bair looks to be a decent combo of pace, strength and finishing. Hopefully we also consider one or 2 that have never worn a kilt, played the bagpipes or eaten neeps & tatties!

I actually think the injury he suffered might've been a blessing in disguise

After a very bright start, his influence on matches was beginning to wane, which is not uncommon among young players still learning their trade, and it gave him a bit of a break to then come back reinvigorated later in the season

Possibly so- we had to find a new string for the bow.

We also got Kenny later on, and our main man up top also got better and better throughout the season.

Difficult to say either way.

Which is what I was getting at in the post in response to the initial assertion.

I definitely love to have him back.

Notwithstanding his injury I'd like to see CB-T back.

I still struggle with alleged targets appearing in the media as it’s asking for trouble. I’d much prefer nothing being said until it’s a done deal. That said our interest in Kenny is long since public knowledge so I’d be very surprised if we land him and I wouldn’t be happy with Celtic hiking the price again anyway. We should move on and set about our business quietly.

I’m sure it’s not the club revealing potential targets lusty though it’s clear we still have interests in ACD and Kenny at least but in fairness most other speculation has come from unreliable sources. Of course agents may reveal interest but to be fair I think the club have done really well so far in keeping targets quiet. I quite like a bit of speculation though as it adds interest and discussion even though it regularly leads to nothing.

At this time of year players, agents and clubs are all playing ‘the game’. Celtic know very well there would be interest in Kenny. Any story they leak can only attract more interest in the player.

We know there is unlikely to be much interest in Randel from anyone thinking of paying a decent fee, if we leak anything on him likely to only attract interest from clubs after a freebie.

How many of these stories have any substance to them no one knows but anyone getting excited or disappointed by any such rumours need to give their head a wobble.

The problem with CBT is not just the last injury but he has struggled for a couple of years. Will want decent money and not sure we can afford a high % of budget on a player who only plays say 25 times a season

Would be a massive risk but if he stays fit somewhere next season will a great boost for someone , Crystal ball time

No more permacrocks for me

Yep. I get all that. Personally I'd risk it, not all would & I'm not fighting anyone.

What, for me, he did show is the Gulf between the two levels.

Nah not for me

Derby fans I know say he was great in league one but shite in the championship and injured a bit

Maybe get him on a pay as you play contract....

Agree with that. Showed immense power and pace. And according to Schumacher that’s what we need at this level. But no use to us if he is injured every couple of months.
