Well of course it’s all about opinions, looks like @Johnnyrottenshare yours too. The one time we tried Sadlier in his best position in a 4-3-3, Barnsley cup game, it was ok, but we looked too fragile and flaky. He does a decent job at WB, but we’ve better there. Same in 10 position. Like I said above I don’t want him to go, I think he’s a decent, versatile impact sub

To be clear I like Sheehan, I can see his qualities, but as others have said he offers little defensively, in comparison to Lee who gets referred to as lightweight but wins loads of challenges and interceptions with his reading of the game. For me there's sometimes a bit too much "knitting the play together" types (Lee, Sheehan, Morley) and not enough grabbing the game and hammering in a shot or a deep cross. Only my opinion but whatever Sheehan can do, I think Sadlier can match, and more eg shooting, heading (eg winner v Burton). A midfield of Lee, Morley and Sadlier would work, they are all intelligent footballers, it doesn't have to be an inflexible formation, especially with Dapo on the pitch able to hold onto possession and buy some time/spot runners etc better than most.
December 19, 20223 yr I'd be happy with what we've got going up top if everyone was playing like they were back end of last season. But they ain't. I trust in evatt and Sharon to pull a January miracle out of the bag again. And we're 5th now. Not 19th.

December 20, 20223 yr At this level and with our budget and in competition no doubt with other bigger spenders we aren’t signing a prolific striker they’re all much of a muchness to be honest. Good scoring runs then can’t hit a barn door for a while (Cole Stockton prime example) as a leading 2 you aren’t getting much better than Charles and Dapo without spending big money we don’t have. I’d include JDB in there too but he just can’t seem to stay fit or get a run of games id happily take a Danny Ward type over Baka though as I think his all round game is tidier

December 20, 20223 yr Stockton was on the bench for a month or so until recently, so he hasn't been scoring much - not sure if he was still coming back from illness or just dropped but Weir is currently their top scorer with 5. I know there was a lot of interest in him last season, especially from Vale, but Evatt made it clear he wasn't right for us and by that he meant he wasn't right for Evatt's system. Stockton is a decent finisher if he gets the service but he doesn't really put the work in running the channels, let alone pressing from the front like Dion does. We have JDB who can finish just as well as Stockton but doesn't get on too often because of Evatt's demands for work rate. I suspect the rumour about Danny Ward has some basis as Danny does work his socks off.
December 21, 20223 yr Agree with that Lusty and I too would be happy with Danny Ward alongside Dion. He isn’t prolific that’s true but he is steady, can shoot and would add that bit of physicality we lack. I think people just have to be realistic about our budget and what we can expect to get for it. There are clubs around us with far more cash available in January than we have so we probably won’t even be in for the best loans. I trust Evatt to do his best so let’s see.
