FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

I’d have no problem with Eaves, big and physical and maybe indicates a slight change in Evatt’s thinking? We have plenty good crossers of the ball but nobody to take advantage and like Madine would be useful defending corners and set pieces where we constantly struggle. As others have said he’d also be a good partner for Dion.

Baka is big and physical. So is JDB.

Baka doesn't play like a big and physical player.

Very true. Plays on the shoulder and gets into scoring positions. How well he converts them..

Rumour the kid on loan at Cheltenham from Southampton will be our first loan signing this week .

They might both be big Lusty but I wouldn’t class either as physical and from what I’ve seen of Eaves, although he isn’t prolific he can hold the ball up which is at least something.

I'd take JDB above Eaves any day of the week, and they wouldn't both start games.  Eaves reminds me too much of Madine, always over stretching to make up for a lack of pace and mobility.  He might score or create a few, but not an easy watch.

8 in 69? We've enough non-scoring strikers.

Wasn't Jon Dadi's similarly dreadful?

Youre not daft, just who do we sign that folk will be happy with?

Even a non league kid would be at wrexham if they wanted him

Ricketts was about 1 in 6 before he joined us and couldnt miss when he arrived

It goes without saying, but ayone available in a January window, for a club at our level, is either someone who isn't currently setting the world on fire, or they're an untested gamble.

Yeah, but you don't get 60-odd International caps by being shit, so that would suggest he had something about him.

Honestly, I don't know, but a lad who has struggled for goals at both Lincoln & Cheltenham hardly sets the pulse racing.

In a country with the same population as Bolton I reckon I'd have a right go at getting in the team. What with all those women, kids, old folks and disabled. Not to mention all the necessary inbreeding.

I can't imagine what it's like in Iceland though.

I thank you.

Mr. Disco - leaving social media for good x

All this chat about "big strikers" on a shoestring budget eh?

Nlundulu has been on Evatt's radar since we got promoted from League 2 so it wouldn't be a surprise. He's only 6' 1" so I guess we'd be looking for pace?

Can't believe we paid Oldham a rumoured £1 million for the poor man's Andy Carroll 12 years ago but now he's rumoured to be a possible returner. At 6' 3" he has some heft but his goalscoring record is poor - apart from when he was at the Gills with Dempsey pulling the strings.

We have Baka - at 6' 4" ostensibly an aerial threat but as much as I love his effort, he ain't blessed with talent - or balance either for that matter if his newborn giraffe impression today was anything to go by.

And we have 6' 3" of JDB of course - a class act but a winger by trade who is making a fair fist of playing up front since he lost the pace he once had. His one goal in just over 3 games tally for us is the highest return of his career.

I'm struggling to see what benefit we would get by signing another striker to play in this system. JDB can do a decent job and Baka - well surplus to requirements IMO with Nlundulu and/or Danny Ward being a sensible replacement but Eaves? Struggling to see the value.

Maybe there are other options.

Bid that went in the other week has now been accepted apparently and we’ve received bids in for Baka. Whilst not yet met our valuation Salford leading the chase.

any amount we get for him with 6 months of his contract remaining which we off set against someone more accomplished will do for me

My lads been looking at Cheltenham’s chance creation, it’s one of worst in the league, he’s not had much created for him, when he was first mentioned I was of the opinion his goal scoring ratio was to low, after watching him on clips and seeing the clipped in pass that resulted in the goal against us I think he might be a decent option, anyhow time will tell.

Donny are after him too

do ok in that league

Twenty quid twenty quid bakayoko

Not to bothered if baka goes but if it’s to sell then to being in a lad on loan from Southampton till the summer doesn’t seem much of a up grade . Hopefully we have something else lined up
