I can't stand Wes Streeting. There's just something about him I can't take to. Maybe it's the desperation to position himself for the top job. He just comes across as too career orientated for me - whilst trying to come across as a 'man of the people' - which I don't think he is.

I can never put my finger on it, he just always (to me) seems to be very disingenuous   -  it's just a personal thing. I've never had to, and never will have to vote for him, so my thoughts on him don't really matter I suppose

It's clear large amounts of folk across the country aren't happy with the way the country is going at the minute so the traditional 2 of labour and Tories are looking likely to get a kicking at the local elections.

The split seems to be do you blame immigrants and woke for the issues and vote reform/restore. Or do you blame corporate greed and the wealthy for the problems and vote green.

You only need to look at the comments under each of those announcements to see how well those candidates have been received by the reform base.

I can see what you mean by that. He can have a touch of the Wes Streetings about him as well at times - but in general his heart seems to be in the right place. For me anyway.

So apparently if someone fails vetting, they're not allowed to tell ministers.. so what's the point if vetting? 

I have to undergo vetting for my job, if something comes up, the one hiring would know.

I suppose the logic would be that a poor showing in the local elections might be what forces those within his party to make a move
