With any project you highlight the risks which it seems what was done in September. That document then underpins the project. What he has ignored is anything that has been done since the document was produced to off set the risks. If the answer to that is nothing I would be amazed as why produce a risks document and then ignore it. It also a worse case scenario so assume there is also a best case document ? Would expect there to be best , likely and worst case scenarios. Not saying it won’t happen but that story is atypical journalist telling half story for the best headline. Clickbait it is and so many people will have fallen for it and lapped it up without any context whatsoever. The power of social media at its best. Facebook will be in a frenzy with it im Sure Quote

Spider Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Turns out the Oven Ready deal Boris was talking about was the Withdrawal Agreement. How silly we’ve all been thinking otherwise. Quote
bolty58 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Latest reports down here saying all sorted apart from this 'level playing field' bollocks. Apparently, they don't fancy some free market competition from us. As the erudite MK has said all along, it will be sorted. There will be a deal. Quote

Apart from a couple of Brexiteers on here most people have said there will be a deal. The actual make up of the deal is what people are waiting for. I am glad that the Goolagong Herald is confident though. 🦥🦥😁 Quote

Spider Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) What's all this about @bolty58? I thought we had just signed up to a better deal with all the Ockers? Soon as we do, the money men are going hiding with the baddies. I agree, but it would be a bit shit if it's worse than what we currently have, and we still find ourselves tenuously linked to the ECJ, which is what is currently being mooted. Still, as you've never told us what the minimum that you expect from a deal is (unlike Mounts, who has) you can celebrate any deal what is signed, no matter how good or bad it is. To be fair, it is quite complex, so there is certainly no shame in you not fully understanding the consequences of what is currently happening. Quote

Well More money for the NHS for starters. We have a £350million a week pot of money now. A trade deal that is tangibly better than anything we had previously with the EU - one that makes all this worthwhile. No businesses going pop because of drastic changes to importing and exporting This was sold as breaking away from a bureacratic prison. We need to do that and show improvement. Would you be happy being out of the EU even if we are worse off? That would be strange, for me. Quote

Eeek Well I hope you're right, but I think you're likely to be disappointed in the deal. Whilst I'm 99% a deal will be done, I suspect the UK will give more ground than the baddies. All that matters to me is deliveries to and from the EU. Beyond that I no longer give a fuck about the flagshaggers on one side, and the foamy-mouthe Euro weirdos on the other. Quote
Escobarp Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 And right there is the issue. Everybody is measuring the proposed success of it in different ways. Some will never be happy also no matter what. It’s just human nature Quote
