Wait until you hear/see all the negatives when we hit 7.5% unemployment in a couple of months time........... Quote

Wait until you hear/see all the negatives when we hit 7.5% unemployment in a couple of months time........... course it's positive news "despite of lockdown restrictions " and despite of that B word too, when the British manufacturing industry supposedly was finished and ground to an immediate halt. I empathise with anyone who has lost money or their jobs, but the links clearly are good news and show there are plenty of jobs out there and being created. If I couldn't pay my bills, I wouldn't sit sulking, I'd be actively looking for work and not blaming Brexit. Quote

Ultimately, do you think we'll end up with a stronger manufacturing base that contributes more to our GDP and employs millions more? - Personally, I suspect that losses and additions will probably nett off against each other, give or take a few percent each way So far, the one's you've posted have been good news..............apart from the TVR one, which will never happen and will probably end up costing the UK tax payer a small fortune 😏 Anyway, because I'm a nice guy....here's a treat for you and that tosser who has gone quiet......💣 Standstill period of 10 days ends at midnight re the big tender.....us 3 lovebirds could see a major booooom we all agree on 😉 I'd say news next week though, very happy if they prove me wrong.....something which Spider has always struggled with. We were staying in a lodge not far from York when the eldest was a nipper. On the way home we went the scenic route down the A19 to the M62 but along the way he was sick so we stopped at Selby to clean him up and some fresh air. Was like something out of the walking dead, wanted a brew in a cafe or similar but fucked off home instead. Edited February 4, 2021 by Winchester White ? Quote
Spider Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Miami, Miami, Miami. When I have ever said companies won’t invest in the UK? We can’t know for sure if they would have come whether we were in the EU or not. That, my friend, we will have to claim as a score draw. But, Those examples you give are excellent news regardless. My issue, which you consistently fail to grasp, is the deal. Specifically, how it has affected ME and the long term damage it has already done. In this new dawn of every man for himself, I am one of the losers and am out of pocket. Which, as a visionary, I saw coming a long way down the track. For the record, I don’t give a fuck about fish, I don’t give a fuck about TVR’s and I don’t give a fuck about trains. Show me the copper. Quote

Re the EU.....a couple of those companies in the link were already in the EU but have chosen to relocate now after Brexit. Folk just won't accept this. Like with manufacturing, the link shows the UK is doing fine. I'll let the vultures kick you when you're down, I'll be the one who puts you down 😉 😜 Quote

But we aren’t and it would appear we are just trying to make the agreement work? But the EU were heralded by many. This. I mentioned this a day or two back. EU nations can't even apply the new rules in the same way; different interpretation. They've put all the new rules in place immediately before anyone either in the EU or the UK has had chance to learn them. That is their prerogative. Taking driver's sandwiches off them is purile. The UK has been far more flexible and accommodating. IDS is a hawkish mp, and member of the ERG, and has a far less accommodating attitude than many to the EU. As he has towards China. Whilst being questioned a couple of days ago, Gove accepted a couple of large problems still remained with trade to NI. A lot has been improved already but still a lot to do, however its inevitable that some will be less inclined to work through the issues and just push the article 16 button. Irrespective of whether or not this route is used; the EU does have to deal with the problems, or face a backlash when NI gets to vote on the set up in a few years. Its in their interests to help with the flow, or face getting the boot. Quote
Gonk Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Here's a radical solution to the Irish Border Issue - ROI fuck the EU off (they've already had the investment) and create a British Isles trading group with the UK. Quote
