Has it started flowing yet?

Honestly mate, nothing is flowing. We've had stuff stuck there for weeks.

I asked spider, and will ask you- what efforts are your companies making with regards to resolving the situation with the authorities?

Support system set up so that businesses can deal directly with a government official; a lot of stuff has been resolved in fishing, so I'm curious as to what the difficulties in getting it resolved actually are.

It may sound an over simplification, but food seems to be flowing readily, so transport doesn't appear to be an issue there, so why with metal or whatever you're waiting for?

Chances are that all efforts are being put into perishables.

We can only go at the government department that covers our sector. It’s not like I can pick the phone up to Greg Hands and tell him to sort the paperwork out.

We have to channel via the BEIS and whilst we have friends in relatively high places there, it’s a machine that you have to play by the rules with.

Can I just say finally that both my sons have had similar lectures when they worked for me. It’s really nothing personal.
Having said that, neither of them work for me anymore. Their choice. 😊

You taught them well BB.

Written letters and telephone the relevant Government departments, sadly it looks like they're snowed under, because they're not being much help. I think they've even taken to getting the local MP involved now, for the fat lot of good he'll do.

I've been involved in a chat this morning on this matter, and it looks like our shipment is being released tomorrow, so we'll have it on Monday/Tuesday, which is very good news

The mp route is seriously worth it.

At the weekly questions in parliament, it is very often the case that a constituent/company is raised, and things tend to happen. Whether that be a particular bit of advice, or the minister taking away the enquiry and addressing it.

Nothing to lose, so why not?

In my view neither side is covering itself in glory, the EU won a gold medal in the 'making a twat of ourselves awards' but we have signed up to a set of rules that the cynic in me says was fine for the political 'tariff free' headlines but have missed out on the frictionless aspect. Sure you are as concerned as anyone about how this plays out in the long term for NI, I still do not see how it can work

Theres no ships

Theres boats aplenty anchored up outside west coast us ports too

So, covid is a big issue

Nobidy really to blame for  that but chucking brexit on top of it is an absolute nonsense

Most MPs channel your query to the correct department and then respond with a page of rhetoric and generalisation which doesn’t actually answer the point you raised.

The vaccine problems have highlighted the bureaucratic and ideological weaknesses of the EU.
It’s always been there and is why I’ve always understood why people wanted out.
Brexit and COVID will cause long lasting damage to the EU. More than the U.K.  in my opinion.
Some will say it was all needless but it was inevitable and democracy will always conquer ideology.

Think it was Bolty who said the lurch to the left and continued liberalism would inevitably create a situation where far right parties would gain a power base in Europe, where this will lead who knows but it seems it’s coming true.

Let’s hope it doesn’t ever get to that point. Let’s hope sense prevails and it settles across the board somewhere near centre

Let’s hope so, also hope it’s the end of the liberal leftism we’ve had to endure.

What's the worst aspect of "Liberal Leftism" you've had to "endure"?
