If Kate Bingham is there because of her name and/or friends, then that stinks too.

The weird thing is that politics in general is back to front.

I could, based on our system, get elected into the cabinet and be given the chancellors job with absolutely no experience.

Fucking daft.

You don't get elected into the cabinet in our system. Did you have another system in mind?

I meant I could get elected to parliament, at which point I could be chosen as a cabinet minister.

in essence, very few ministers are highly trained experts at the job they end up doing.

Mr Farage as quit politics... again 🤔

I'm sure Nigel is making plans, he will be back soon in some political capacity, he isn't going away.

Surely he's too busy counting blokes in dinghy's on the coast of Kent to be arsed with politics.

Theres always a job for someone willing to head count dinghy migrants in Le Manche. Perhaps Priti might offer him a real job 🤓

He's more qualified than she is, given he can actually count.

Hancock's background is economics.

Most of the really clever people share that in common. JSL

Normal folk don’t understand it

Adolf Hitler was an artist.

Ronald Reagan was an actor.

Vladimir Putin was ex KGB

Imran Khan was a cricketer

I think a porn star is involved in Italian politics.

In fairness, for many of the top ministerial jobs, juggling the department's finances is likely a key aspect.

And management of people.

The experts will work for them.

So Hancock has a background in Economics.

He’s the Minister for Health.

The actors off Casualty have a background in emergency medical procedures but I’d still want to see a proper doctor if my head was hanging off.

I fully understand it, that doesn’t mean I think it’s flawless.

I couldn’t care less about Matt Hancock he’s a useless sniveling rat.

And an Oxford qualified research chemist and barrister into the bargain. I'm not a fan of her politics but credit where it is due.

Grammar School and not Eton educated in her earlier life. Still hated by most on the left though. As you say, her politics were divisive but she changed the stereotypical view of a Tory for most.

Covid wouldn’t have fucking dared to infect a Britain led by The Thatch.

She’d have kicked it back to Peking by April.

I bet she had a right thatch on her. 😄

She'd have told them chinks what she thought of them I am sure!

Her bonnet would have been covered in a dense patch of red white and blue in the shape of a union jack

I see Switzerland has banned face coverings apart from COVID precautions.

https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-europe-56314173

From another site.

France banned wearing a full face veil in public in 2011 and Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands and Bulgaria have full or partial bans on wearing face coverings in public.

If this was us of the US, there would be uproar. There are other European countries considering the same action including the Czech Republic.
