The only thing that saves it is the wonderful people that work there and go the extra mile, all with their hands tied behind their backs.

Any other industry or service wouldve collapsed a long time ago. Imagine telling some dude at BAE or a civil servant they cant go home yet and theres another 8 hours to do or they are on 20 days straight becasue theres no fucker to cover.

How much money needs to be thrown at it? A big problem at the moment within the NHS is staff sickness, there’s a lot of people who know how to take the piss out of the system. It’s alright wanting lots of shiny new facilities but it’s no good when the staff don’t turn up to work in them.

@Mounts Kipper I’m not sure about what’s going on with the military funding. However no matter how skint we are we will always have the best military 😉

We did until you retired ❤️

It's mostly about new jobs Mounts. IE - if someone leaves then you can apply to replace them and it might get approved. But you can't increase overall headcount.

The Tories set up new integrated care systems to replace CCG's which came into effect last June. Ours is already £600,000,000 in debt. Lots of people have lost their jobs. And everyone is working overtime just to keep the system functioning.

But we do it because we have to.

Quite

we hear ad nauseum that it is underfunded. We never see a calculation that validates that it is underfunded, overfunded (as some think), or correctly funded.

It'd be a whole  lot worse if you left mate. You keep the IT system running. They'd be fucked without you 😘

Not sure about you, but all contractors & fixed terms are gone/going. People on secondments also dropping back down band(s)

In 13 years I've never known anyone to drop back from a secondment

Yes - sadly lots of talented and conscientious people are losing their jobs. At a time when we need all the talented, conscientious people we can get.

Well I’m afraid you are mistaken.
