Not quite so good if you're one of the ones being called into a consultation meeting at 3pm this afternoon. Although it does need sorting. The devil will (as ever) be in the detail. Quote

Seriously though mate, I hope you’ll be ok but of course when they talk about duplication and cuts, that usually means job losses for some. 10,000 according to Streeting. Hope things become clearer for you later. Edited March 13, 2025 by BobyBrno Quote

I'll be amazed if he's not in charge in 5, but if he's not and is booted out because he's doing a terrible job like Johnson and Truss were, then that's fine by me Quote

Along with some not so good ones too of course. I am - once more caught in the political maelstrom! 😔 Quote

Don't forget that it's also doing more, for a greater number of people, who are living longer with lots of complicated co-existing conditions, and need access to increasingly expensive and sophisticated treatments. Not all of this money is going on DEI employees you know! 😁😉 Quote

I was talking about the civil service, in terms of looking realistically about under performance and making it more effective - not bigger. As for NHS England - yes it looks like there will be significant job losses. Quite the statement of bold reform. Biggest change in a long time and a real blindside - not a murmur or a leak even with Pritchard announcing stepping down next month. I bet the unions are fuming at this moment. I do wonder if there are loads of people who don't realise NHS England isn't actually the NHS and totally lose their minds rather than a body created by Cameron in 2012. Quote
BobyBrno Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 I doubt Keir will be bothered about a Farnworth Pensioner criticising some of his decisions. (just some on here😊) He’ll be more concerned about a rebellion in the Labour ranks about his decision to target pensioners, the forecast welfare cuts and now NHS England. 80 mps rebelling? Quote

It's wider than NHS England unfortunately. We're not part of NHS England but are part of the cull. Quote

Spider Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 When Trump swings the axe across all US public services, the "right" are wanking themselves blind. Sir Keir hints at a little fat trimming in the wasteful NHS and suddenly the "right" are up in arms. All very odd. Quote

I was just about to send you a PM letting you know in case you were worried! She works for a different organisation - and she's patient facing too 👍 Quote
