I think this is something that all sides of the political spectrum can get behind!

lol, the Dryrobe Wankers FB group started down here when they started escaping off beaches.

Yep. It got the usual folks very excited and worked up. About something that has no effect on their life whatsoever, but they don't like it because 'brown people'.

What effect does religion have on your life,

I'm not sure it is

For example

I've seen them going about their everyday lives wearing them, doing shopping in a supermarket then carrying the bags home

You see them out and about in places like lomgsight and levenshulme, walking in parks with their kids, waiting at bus stops

What is it you'd expect them to do that is considered fully integrated or taking part?

They just look like folk getting on with their lives to me

It's difficult to form meaningful relationships with people outside of a person's in group if the general public can't see who they are

Do you often form meaningful relationships with strangers who would rather be left to their own devices?

What about after I’ve taken a dip in the North Sea ?

Well yes but it's not necessary that people do so to get by living what they consider a fulfilled, meaningful life

For them or anyone else

Bsn balaclavas and you know exactly the response will be

Didn't even realise they were a thing

But you're right in that the country is facing a lot of issues right now, none of which will be resolved by banning burqas or face coverings

So it was a pointless question to ask at PMQs

But we know what the point was

Precisely

 waste of time & energy

imagine getting worked up about it

Sure, but I'm not claiming they can't live what they consider to be a fulfilled, meaningful life

You know the reason.

You’ve lost me with your tangents. You want Muslims in burkas just going about their business to be told to remove them to prevent crimes being committed. You don’t know who will do it or care about the cost to enforce this. This will also reduce other problems like littering. Is that about right?

Nope

ok but you're saying they can't integrate though

I guess it depends what you think that should look like

there's no reason a UK citizen can't go about their business and life on a daily business, contributing to society, whilst wearing a burka, and they don't need to form meaningful relationships outside of their peer group or community if they don't want to, and that goes for every group or category of folk out there

(I'd have no issues with a ban on all face coverings, but at the same time, don't think we need to push the agenda either or demand one)

Integration is certainly more than just nipping to Asda and going to the local park

But my actual point was that the burqa - whatever anyone thinks of it - is a substantively different thing to someone wearing a costume that covers their face on a night out or someone wearing a motorcycle helmet

First time I encounter was down your neck of the woods folk sticking them on for the walk back to the car after a dip in the waves.

Anyway IMG_2051.thumb.jpeg.ca226a7c027661c8ae24dec96d8ff4cd.jpeg

Think a lot of people get get confused with niqab and burka .
I don’t actually see a lot of burkas to be honest, but plenty of the niqabs, which I believe are the common black veils you see everywhere in some areas.
doest have any effect on the face covering discussion, but think even if they did “ ban the burka” you wouldn’t see much difference to be honest .

Putting your kecks on is loads easier with a dry robe.

Plus you can't beat the all encompassing, whole body warm feeling, of a dry robe after a cold water swim.

It's like an enormous minge all over ones body. Don't knock it til you've tried it x

Pretty much what I got from reading the last few pages.

Must have spun himself sideways. Nothing like a good Burka binbag joke to finish it all off 😄

I live by the sea now, and unless it's at least 19 degrees I'm not going in. It is nice for a dip after work in summer.

I've got mates in Edinburgh and I think  dry robe in essential if you are going swimming up there.

But, dry robes on the school run. That's a hard no!

We established a long time ago that you have problems reading and you also like to make things up.
