He does also say he hates the Japanese and calls Germans "Nazis" all the time though.

MalcolmW
even more pointless then plus the commonwealth games are shit, like the World Cup VS Check A Trade Cup That is far from the case, and your comparison is totally unfair.is overly large If you were to say it's like the FA Cup v League Cup that would be a more accurate comparison. The Commonwealth Games is superb, and I hope to see all the athletics at Birmingham in 2022. The Olympics is oversized and seems incapable of managing to avoid continual growth. There are far less drug issues around the Commonwealth Games, although of course they do arise. It is essentially a Canadian invention, hence the first Games being held in a relatively minor Canadian city. The UK competes separately a E, W, S and NI, plus Jersey Guernsey and IoM, which may make it seem secondary. But Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Jamaica, Trinidad, etc make the standard pretty good.

Whites man
The lack of support Birmingham and then Manchester's Olympic bids got still rankles, especially when all the stops were pulled out for London.

MalcolmW
And Barcelona over Madrid Munich and Montreal. But basically the Olympics are oversized. At least since 1983 athletics has had its own World Championships, which are just as competitive and far more manageable.

MalcolmW
And why has New York never been awarded th’Olympics? They did apply for 2012 and it made the shortlist. They were 4th of 5 in the first round of voting with 19 (London was top with 22). In the second round their votes fell to 16 and they were eliminated. Their plans faced heavy criticism from the citizens of NYC, who felt such spending could not be justified in what they regarded as the greatest city in the world anyway. USA have hosted 4 times, and each has caused severe problems.
