Remember when Wanderersways played you lot…. That was a bit of a mad game! Wreckless tackles flying in left right and centre.

Yesterday was no different- 14 a side at one point 😂 personally had a stinker, hit the post when I should’ve scored… the lad wasn’t even a twinkle in my eye on that pic, but he played outfield and bagged.

i can’t move… first time in 4 months, but we go again- tomorrow is another potential start 😂

Feeling like dog shite all day, just dragged myself out for a 5 mile run and instantly feel ace. Breathing out my arse for the first mile mind lol

I’ve been out this evening for a flat 4 mile road run. Did the exact same route, same run, at the same heart rate 6 months ago in October. I’m 2 minutes per mile faster. So the low heart rate training has paid off. Definitely feeling pretty fit. Weight now lowest for 4 years (when I bought my Renpho scales).

Have managed 60 miles this week.

Mon - 7.5 miles local roads (boring).
Tues - 16 miles around Ladybower Res (Trail)
Wed - weights & cardio at home.
Thu - 11.5 miles around Rivington (Trail)
Fri - Rest day (2-3 mile walk). - Had DOMS from Wednesday’s session.
Sat - 21 miles around Bury (Sunnywood Project - The Link Challenge). (Trail)
Sun - 4 miles local roads.

So you knocked 8 minutes of the time it took to run 4 miles?

That's impressive

I've not ran in ages, been doing a gym session each day for a while now, classes there are great and cover all my strength and cardio needs

But done two 5ks today and yesterday

61k week for me

4 weeks until the London marathon

Dragged myself out for another one. Knocked a couple minutes off and tripped over some barbed wire, obviously as I was passing the only people I saw on the run 🤦‍♂️

Yep, at the same heart rate. So in theory, if I carried on low heart rate training for another 6 months, I’d knock another 2 mins off, which would be phenomenal. Would mean I could run a marathon in a PB but without exerting myself.

Pretty sure I won’t shift a further 2 minutes in 6 months though. Guessing it will plateau at some point.

I’m back mostly running hills and longer distance again now and noticing my heart rate is staying relatively low in comparison to my work rate. Happy with that.

Superb. You got a time in mind? Believe it’s not a place to hope for a PB, too many people and too many sights you wanna take in.

anything sub 4, I'm not fussed tbh, all about the experience and the fundraising for this one

Think I'm going to headbutt someone at the gym. Fuckers are methering you as soon as you get on a machine

If that's the Stocks in Walkden I played in a 'friendly' against a Stocks team above 50 years ago on Harriet Street. I remember us all getting kicked up and down and we were a bit wary about going in for a pint after. They were a different set of lads after pasty n peas. Haven't a clue what the score was mind.

Drank 40 pints this weekend.

Felt like death today.

Dragged myself to the gym and instantly feel better. Hard fucking work though.

Nice coming out to this view as well.

Life wasn't so good this morning :D

Blackpool cunts.

Fuckin ell.

Need to clean a few windows to pay for that lot too!

Not so bad for me- took my ire out on my neighbour's bush. 😁

Starting a weight loss kick as I'm feeling shitty..

Done a lot of walking recently, gaining my Lowland Leader qualification and considering going in  for the Hill and Moorland Leader.. basically do a LOT of walking, usually 20km a time, at a very quick pace.

It's brought my heart rate down, blood pressures ok, but i'm still body conscious of my size as carrying this much weight isn't good, even though it's a lot of muscle

Thinking maybe swimming is good? If i just hit the weights i'll struggle to lose weight, but I can't do strenuous cardio due to other health issues.

Swimming is definitely good. Go a few times and take it pretty easy and don't push yourself too hard. Then gradually increase what you're doing every time you go. Even if it's just an extra length than the time before. You will see the benefits pretty quickly.

Swimming is absolute peak pal.

The best activity you can possibly do for all round fitness for me. Trains every single muscle with resistance and burns fat for fun. Easy on the joints too.

It's just a big ball ache so it always puts me off :D

It's so fucking dull, though.

Love swimming. Done about 5K over 3 swims this week. Would have done further but the clock beat me. Keeps me fit and sane. Really feel the benefit when I get on my bike. Can’t run due to the arthritis in my toes so swim as much as I possibly can each week

I can't run either, but that's because I'm too fat.

Got to agree.  Despite its many benefits, plodding up and down a lane was so so boring I just couldn't stick to it.

Get what you and @Traf say. It took me a while to get into it. Work it now as sets of 3 lengths. One each of front crawl, breaststroke and backstroke. Rinse and repeat. Zone out. It’s me time. No cunt in the gym mithering me. Nobody talking to me. Me on my own. Fucking bliss. Limit it to 30-40 mins and do it as often as possible. Works for me
